You'll have the entire apartment to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.
Stay at home in Reno
You have your own separate space with separate entrance in a quiet residential neighborhood, 10 minutes from airport and downtown Reno. Less than one hour from Tahoe and skiing. Full large basement apartment is over 700 sq. ft. and has a separate, private entrance (with stairs) and its own backyard. Owners live upstairs. Eclectic decor - antique bedroom set, Mexican themed common spaces. This is NOT a party house. If there is anything resembling a party you will be asked to leave immediately.
This is a spacious studio apartment. It occupies the entire basement of a 2 bedroom house (above), so it is quite large. The queen bedroom area is off by itself a bit and has a curtain for some privacy. The single bed has a partial room divider also. For those who need a desk space there is a very large desk, with lamp, and elecrical outlets.
You have access to the entire basement apartment through a private entrance on back of house, and private backyard area, entered by a separate gate to street parking.
We live upstairs, so if there’s anything you need we can attend quickly. Interaction is up to you- we will give you your space but always happy to have a friendly conversation or give recommendations. Don`t hesitate to call or text me or knock on front door if you need me. Occasionally we may need to do yard work or other repairs outside. If this is a problem please let us know. We do not want to disturb you. If any repairs are urgently needed inside, we will communicate and do our best to minimize disturbing your stay.
There is a lot to do in and around Reno. Check out the visitrenotahoe website for events. The Grand Sierra Casino close by has great shows, bowling, a winter skate ring and $3 movies. Our home is in the same neighborhood as the VA hospital and very close to Renown Hospital. We are close to many many restaurants, some within walking distance. We are 5 min from airport and 6 min from downtown.
My house is 3 blocks from a main road,Kietske Lane. The GPS often says to head north, make a right on Taylor, and then make a left on Kietske, to go to many places in town. I think that is a very dangerous intersection, so I recommend that you go south, make a left on Bresson, a right on Cordone and a left on Vassar St. Then make your left on Kietske at the light. Also remember that when Nevada says 15 mph in a school zone, they mean it and you will get ticketed. Not worth it, so go slow.
The couch is a sofabed with a full/queen mattress. A portacrib is also available. There are some board games and a collection of books and magazines as well as some toddler toys. Kitchen is ready for cooking and cabinets contain spices, oils, cookware, servingware and some basic foods just in case. A washer and dryer are in the apartment for you to use as well as an iron and ironing board. I now have a rental car available for you to rent so you can avoid the long wait at the car rental counter. Reasonable rates. 7 passenger Dodge Grand Caravan. Message me for details and availability. Dogs are welcome here, but we would also like our place to be welcoming for future guests with pet allergies, so extra cleaning is always done after a pet has visited here. No pets are allowed on any furniture Please bring your own pet bedding or you may use one of our sheets on the floor. Please clean up after your dog. There should be grocery bags under the sink to hold pet waste. You may leave those bags outside the door. Do not leave your pet unattended unless crated. An additional fee will be charged if the rugs need shampooing due to excess fur or urine or feces spots.

Kitchen was clean and well stocked. A nice touch were the muffins and drinks provided for our stay. Check-in was easy and the unit is roomy enough for 4. This VRBO is a basement under the hosts house with a private entrance and parking.

The property was perfect for a quick weekend getaway with my daughters. The space was roomy, clean and very comfortable. We had everything we needed. I would definitely stay there again.
We had a great time and really loved the house! The host was very accommodating and friendly. The house was very clean, cozy, and felt very safe. Our dogs loved the fenced in back yard. I would highly recommend this rental!!! Btw, if we’re ever back in Reno, we would definitely stay here again : )
This is our second month long stay here, which is perfect for us to be close to all the activities, attractions, friends, shopping and night life Reno has to offer.
Our family of four stayed for one night before heading on to Lake Tahoe. The accommodation is on the bottom floor/basement and the property owners live above it. The property was exactly as described and worked well for our stay. It was clean, quiet and had everything we needed.
Hostess is the best. You ask a question and she replies immediately. She has thought of everything - even the small amenities. Room was clean and spacious and convenient to everything. Will stay here again.
Property was clean, had all the amenities we needed. Well, appointed and the price was great! The only drawback...was we did not know it was a basement VRBO. Being seniors unloading and the loading a bit of a strain with all the stairs.unloading our
Perfect, affordable stay for me, my friend and my pup. The fenced-in yard was key which allowed me to go to our friend’s wedding without hiring a dogsitter. Basement apartment was tastefully updated with a lot of extras… coffee, hot drinks and snack’s complementary!
We enjoyed our stay very much and Katherine was a great host! 5 stars!
Clean nice place. Quiet neighborhood. My son and a couple of his friends came over to watch the basketball game and play board games. This was our second stay at this place and hopefully we will be back next year too
Perfect location for my five day stay with my little dog. Katherine was welcoming when I arrived but I didn’t see her again until I left. Super clean, very large space with all the amenities you could hope for. The full size refrigerator/freezer and oven are above what you usually find in rental spaces that contain a microwave and coffee pot. Would definitely return for another stay. Everything was perfect!
We had never traveled with our dogs, and this host provided us with a contained space that kept the dogs safe. Our host was gracious when the dogs were louder than we had hoped. A new place was exciting to them, but they also were barking more than we thought they would.
We were supposed to come last year 2022, but due to wildfires and bad air quality, Katherine kindly rescheduled us to this year without any cost to us.
The space is as described, spacious for our family of four. Everything is very clean and we slept very comfortably on the beds. Katherine provided everything that we needed. Highly recommended! Thank you Katherine.
This is a 2 level house with the guest entrance to the rear. A couple live upstairs (the host) and if there’s anything to keep in mind with this place is that if you’re a light sleeper, you’ll hear walking around coming from upstairs and other small noises from any other activity. Keep in mind that there are no doors to separate rooms. If your plan is to stay and sleep the night, then go and do other activities elsewhere, this place will probably suffice. The listing states this place will sleep 6, I disagree. It’s more like 4.5. One other thing we noticed was that there was a decent amount of hair in the shower and some stains on a couple of pillow cases. However, they were clean. Overall the place was very clean. It worked out well for us and our dog. Our dog doesn’t bark, so I’m sure they appreciated the quiet we all maintained! A decent place to go if you’re just looking to crash out and leave. You really can’t beat the price either. Added note: The host is very respectful and communicative, which is a plus in my book.
This was a great place to stay. Very convenient and nice location. The place was clean and had all the amenities we needed. We would definitely stay here again!
