"Room did not seem used for a while. Dead flies & cobwebs on the windowsill. Unfortunately very busy hotel. Breakfast good on first morning but only one waitress looking after busy restaurant on the second. Had to wait for table to be cleared. No clean tables available . No fresh fruit. All croissants gone & no pastries left . Told no more available . Had to wait 40 minutes before cooked breakfast served. Not impressed. Food in bar really good in the evening. Good value for money. Ladies in the bar very friendly & couldn’t do enough to help."

"Lovely place to stay near Newmarket, I had booked it because it offered rooms with baths. I was travelling with work and knew I wanted an early night and a bath. Hotels.com listed the available room as having the option of a bath so i requested it. To be fair the hotel never confirmed the request and i forgot to follow up. When i arrived in the afternoon I was given a room with a shower only , I asked if it was possible to change but unfortunately it wasn’t. Everything else about the stay was perfect, a couple of minor maintenance issues in the bathroom (dirty grout and mirror light not working) but otherwise spotless, comfy bed, quiet and staff couldn’t have been nicer. Food was good. I was disappointed that it wasn’t possible to have a bath in the room and would have booked somewhere else if I had known in advance. Might be a good idea to modify the hotels.com listing."
