"This is one of my all time best hotel experiences, anywhere. The property is stunning, the food is delicious, the staff are incredibly helpful & the location is quite beautiful - it’s separate from the busy downtown of Victoria but still close enough to easily get to town quickly, with some coastal walks nearby! My only notes were that the property has active construction which made getting in & out slightly cumbersome with little direction and parking was slightly confusing during check in as a result."

"I laughed when the motel came up as I remembered it from my childhood. I didnt know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised by our stay. The rooms weren’t fancy but very clean. I wasn’t bothered by any traffic noise and the bed was very comfortable (best pillows ever). The staff were all wonderful and friendly. The breakfast did the trick and the great room was nice. Awesome to have tea, coffee, and specialty coffees available at all times. The guests mingling and having the pool table gave it a really nice, old time social feeling. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable stay and definitely would recommend it to sport teams as the great room is perfect for hockey team evening hangouts."

"For an older hotel I booked ocean view which was partially blocked by a giant, which was completely out of their control. I wish when booking they would advise that there are two sides, laurel wing which faces the Empress and Erickson wing which faces the incoming wharf (would have preferred this). The bed was extremely comfy! The bathroom was a bit outdated, the tub/shower combo is quite aged and small, though extremely clean and well maintained. The staff, omg the staff, absolutely wonderful, helpful, polite and happy! This is the five star treatment everyone looks for. Restaurant and bakery amenities were wonderful, again with that same service from staff. I would definitely stay here again, I would just book the other wing for the view. Thank you!!"
