"The hotel was lovely and the staff were great The receptionist was so kind and friendly made you feel very welcome "

"Good onsite parking within a very short walk to Battle high street and abbey but unfortunately the abbey park grounds were closed but none the less had a lovely pre Christmas one night stay at the Chequers, the food was of good quality both evening and breakfast, staff friendly and helpful, the room spacious and mattress very comfortable but could all do with refreshing but bear in mind it is a very old Inn circa 1478 but what is really needed are blackout blinds on the windows as our room was street side and despite comfortable mattress the constant street lights and frequent headlights made room bright and not conducive to sleep maybe pick a rear room next time."

"The cottage is very comfortable and quiet - perfect for 2 people who want to get away from tourist spots but still close enough to visit. Harrison was very helpful and responsive. Village pub is easily walkable and very friendly and welcoming Would highly recommend "

"Everything from check in and being left some fabulous flapjacks and treats for the dog which were delicious for all of us was very easy and the host was fab. The accommodation was clean and very quaint and the outside area was lovely. The walk to the pub across the sheep field and walking home in the dark was an adventure in itself, We will be back."
