Storyteller is located in the heart of Wears Valley. Wears Valley is the gateway to the Smoky Mountain National Park, Pigeon Forge, Townsend and a short drive through scenic mountain roads into Gatlinburg.

Our cabin is privately nestled on 1.5 acres in Cove Mountain. WE ARE NOT LISTED ON CRAIGLIST. ITS A SCAM. There is plenty of private parking on our driveway. In just about any seat on our wrap around balcony, you will experience the breathtaking panoramic view of The Smoky Mountains. Enjoy the sounds of nature and you may catch wild jack rabbits, raccoons, and can spot a bear around too!. The smell of fresh mountain air and pine will relax even the most stressed city slickers. Our cabin is pet friendly with owner approval. A non-refundable pet fee applies for pet rentals.

Built in 2005, Storyteller makes a perfect retreat for the entire family or group of friends. With a sofa-bed in the living area, we can accommodate up to 8 ADULTS. TVs and DVD players are located in every room. You will enjoy the fireplace and our movie collection if you stay in any night. All TVs are equipped with cable. We provide everything you will need to cook up your Tennessee meal in our kitchen. Roast marshmallows in our gazebo around a built-in gas fire-pit and share a story or two! You'll love sitting out there drinking hot chocolate in the winter months while the firepit warms you up!

The game room downstairs has a billiards table, wet bar with built-in fridge. Watch your favorite game on TV while you battle it out for the Storyteller billiards championship; we have had all-nighter tournaments! After a long day sightseeing in the Smokies or shopping at the Pigeon Forge outlets, relax and soak up in the outdoor hot tub which has a open view.

Stay with us and you also get a personal travel planner; we will provide you with all the best attractions, restaurants, and activities. For the bikers, the local Harley Davidson shop is just 11 miles from our cabin in Pigeon Forge on light #3. If you prefer to fly n ride, you can rent a motorcycle. Just ask us and we will be glad to provide all the details. Go skiing/snowboarding in Ober Gatlinburg or Cataloochee (Maggie Vally, NC). Explore Cades Cove, Tuckaleechee Cavens, Clingman's Dome, or gamble at the Harrah's Casino in Cherokee, NC. Ready for some thrills, go white water rafting. The Biltmore Estate is also a short drive away. They have a great winery and Estate tour. Just ask, we will give you great travel ideas during your stay with us!

We love dogs and allow them in our the cabin with a pet fee. Please include breed and weight at booking. The cabin is smoke free, you may smoke outside provided that you pick up after yourself ; no buds on the lawn or anywhere else please. No fireworks allowed.

Charcoal BBQ outside in parking area with cover if you want to enjoy some backwoods mountain air bbq. Bad weather? Stay in and watch one of the many movies from the video collection or log into your favorite streaming channel!!
No Excessive Garbage left inside cabin or outside the garbage can. Bears and wildlife will go through it and make a habit of visiting the cabin if garbage is left outside cans provided.

Do not feed the wildlife, especially bears.

The cabin is non-smoking

Pets are not allowed unless approved by the owner and disclosed during the booking process.

Storyteller magic

Extremely clean and cozy! Great view and the cabin was just beyond wonderful. We had great family time, we could just chill and also go out to see the sights. Would highly recommend this cabin!

Great for Families

Nice quiet neighborhood. The large enclosed deck was great for our dog who loves to be outside. We used the firepit almost every night, when we watched the sunset.

It was amazing

The cabin was absolutely beautiful. Mabel even called the first morning we were there to check on us and make sure we made it and asked how we were liking the place. Was a perfect little getaway I can say though it’s pretty steep to get to the cabin but other than that no issue. Would definitely stay again

Amazing views!

Really enjoyed our stay at Storyteller! The cabin was clean and inviting, just a short drive from downtown Pigeon Forge (stayed here for a baseball tournament). Cannot beat the amazing views from the balcony!

Perfect for a family getaway

This cabin was perfect for our family of 4 + 2 pups. The yard was a huge bonus for our kids and dogs. The property was exactly as described and we absolutely loved the views from the balcony. We would absolutely recommend this property and stay here in the future.

Cabin was very clean and well stocked. Layout was great for us. We enjoyed having great TV/internet to be able to stay in touch with other family. Hot tub was great to relax in after a day of hiking or shopping. One of the best stocked cabins we have stayed in the 11 years we have been vacationing in Wears Valley.

Nice cabin

Cabin is semi secluded in a good location but not too far from food/ shopping and back entrance to the smoky mountains park the only issue I had was the cabin hadn’t been cleaned clearly in a while the floors were dirty pet hair everywhere everything was thick in dust and we had to find a dollar store to buy a coffee maker because the one provided was disgusting we had to strip a bed and wash bed linens because they had pet hair on them clearly hadn’t been changed from last guest hot tub was dirty so we could utilize that the cabin is nice but definitely needs a DEEP CLEAN And updated furniture I will not stay at this property again

Storyteller Cabin Review

This cabin was excellent. Property was clean and well kept. The kitchen was well stocked, and the cabin had plenty of room for a family of 8. The views were incredible. The property managers were quick to respond to any questions Also, we saw bears a couple of times during our stay. I would definitely recommend this cabin for your vacation to the Smokey Mountains.

Amazing cabin and owners!!

Beautiful cabin and views!! Winter storm hit the next morning and we weren’t able to leave to go do much but the cabin had games , a hot tub and had sled boards to use with the snow down the driveway along with a pool table to keep us occupied and the owner kept in touch with us throughout the snow storm along with finding someone to bring us food/water when we ran out and couldn’t take our car to go get some ourselves, our pups also loved it, would definitely recommend this cabin to others and hope to be back next year!

We loved this cabin! This cabin had everything we needed. Decorated so cute and cozy. We loved the location-private and the view was amazing. Only 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and just a little further for Gatlinburg. We had a bear in the driveway, saw turkey in the back yard and various other critters. The owners were great to work with and offered sightseeing and restaurant suggestions. If we find ourselves back in the area I would definitely rent this cabin again.

Best place I Stay ever!!!

This is the place place I stay ever .Cabin was very comfortable and clean ,well stoked ,with easy access and with plenty of amenities ,but the best ,are the owners Angel and Mabel .They had very good communication with us ,even they were worried before we came to the cabin because and winter storm were coming .Very satisfied with them and I truly recommended this place to spent a wonderful vacation. Definitely I would like to comeback in the future .Thank you Angel and Mabel for take care of me and my family . Eduardo.

Nice place to stay when in Pigeon Forge/Townsend Area. NOTE: The room pictured as a childs room with trundle is no longer the set up. This was disappointing as it really was one of the inital draws to the property. We made do. The layout is good for a larger family group. The hot tub was clean and relaxing. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellent cabin!

We have been going to the area over 25 years and this cabin by far was the cleanest we have stayed in. Working with Angel and Mabel was great. We had a few questions and they responded quickly but we had no issues. The drive up the mountain was easier than most cabins with this great view. We did see bears while there ! It was great! Grass area for my shih tzu's to walk. We highly recommend this cabin!

Beautifully decorated even the tree was still up!! I was sick on our Christmas vacation so this trip definitely made up for it. It was our grandson’s 11th birthday so we got to celebrate that too. Well supplied kitchen- we love to cook so that was a surprise. Didn’t see any bears but got to see some snow.

Our story

The cabin is wonderful, plenty of space to move around in, the deck affords some of the best views of the mountains and smoke, the ride up and down is very unnerving the first few times but once we got going it was fun too. Loved the theme throughout the cabin and even saw two bears the first day there. Overall a wonderful place to enjoy what the Smokies have to offer; definitely would recommend to our friends.

Great place for families!

We visited the Storyteller cabin for 4 nights with our 3 small children (all under 5). There was a travel crib available along with a few toys for them to play with. The living room was spacious and the kitchen had everything we needed for cook during the week including a crockpot, small air fryer, staple pantry items, etc. We drove to Gatlinburg one day and that was mostly windy roads through the mountains and took about 45 minutes. The drive to Pigeon Forge was much easier and only took about 25 min. A good compromise for getting the privacy of your own space. The cabin is within a few minutes of some scenic places to eat and grab coffee and my kids really enjoyed access to the pool and fishing ponds nearby. They had plenty of towels and extra pillows and blankets for our family of 5 and a tv in every bedroom which I wasn’t expecting from this listing pics! The views from the deck were amazing and the host gave us plenty of instructions for how to operate the hot tub, fire pit etc. The only thing we couldn’t figure out was the thermostat. We would set it at 70 but when we would leave and come back after a few hours it kept defaulting back to 75. Not a big deal though! We highly recommend this cabin to those visiting!

Beautiful cabin with amazing views

We had a nice relaxing time at the storyteller cabin. We fished, made s’mores, played pool and uno non stop. Truly we didn’t want to leave. We saw bears 3 different times!! It was really cool !
