The Lodge at Wakulla Springs

"We had a great time at Wakulla Springs. We stayed at the lodge for two nights. It was a beautiful old building with the original marble floors and wood ceilings. It was like stepping back in time. The room was very clean and comfortable. Don't expect a TV, microwave, or refrigerator. They weren't there when the lodge was built and they aren't there now, so you get the peace of no electronic noise. But there is a coffee station in the morning on the floor where the rooms are. The coffee was really good. We ate 3 meals in the restaurant: lunch and dinner twice. The food was delicious. I highly recommend the banana pudding cheesecake. We really enjoyed the boat ride on the river. Tickets were only $8 per person for the 1-hour ride. The boat captain gave interesting facts about the spring, river, and wildlife. He also pointed out wildlife stopped or reversed the boat so we could see it better. We also took a dip in the spring water. It was chilly but felt pretty good on a hot August day. Ultimately, we really enjoyed our visit and plan to go back again."

"Excellent, but it could have been even better! I rated it four stars because there was a foul odor left in the refrigerator by the previous tenant. The cleaning crew should have caught this. Also, there was no gas tank for the gas grill when we arrived. Molly took care of these things quickly once we were able to get through to her. We hope to return someday soon, and look forward to giving this wonderful place a five star review next time."
