If you want to stay in Silverton...this is the place. Simple, clean, great location, plenty of character! If you expect a Hampton inn...stay in Durango. If you want to experience Silverton and the culture and history...stay at the Bent Elbow and visit the bar downstairs, and the Shady lady next door for Karaoke on Friday nights, and walk the epic streets and shops. Visit the Bear Cafe and the Handlebar restaurant.

I was first attracted to The Bent Elbow Hotel by the old western style appearance. All previous reviews were spoke highly of this Hotel. The room was very inviting and comfortable. The beds and pillows were so awesome. Slept like a baby. Shower was nice and warm or hot, if you prefer hot. The staff responded immediately to any of my questions and were very courteous. We truly loved the place and would stay again if ever up that way.

Stayed in the Bordello room. Balcony has a beautiful view of the mountains, the old red light district, and was great for people watching and drinking coffee. There is a restaurant/bar below hotel, but wasn’t overly loud. Bartender was very personable and makes great drinks. Only negative is there didn’t seem to be any air-conditioning in the room.

Great stay, the bed was the most comfortable we had on this vacation and the pillows were great. There was no check in process, they e-mail the room code and you just go on in. Also no check out as there is no front desk and the restaurant/bar downstairs was not open when we left early. Not much room for luggage if you have kids and are using both beds.
