Rustic Personal Retreat Cabin, "Sunrise"

This little one-room cabin is ADORABLE! It has everything you need (and nothing you don't) for a quiet getaway to fill your soul. We're located just 30 minutes outside Duluth, MN, but when you're here you'll feel like you're in the middle of nowhere.

Here are a few things you'll want to know before you book this cabin:
- The cabin is clean, comfortable, and elegant, but still quite rustic. The cabin is available year-round, with a propane fireplace for your main source of heat. It has electricity, but no running water. In the kitchenette is a water dispenser for washing & drinking. Adjacent to the cabin is your own private low-odor outhouse that has a little heater and a light you can turn on from inside the cabin. Just a one-minute walk from the cabin is the main lodge, which has public restrooms for showers and flushing toilets.
- There is no drive-in access to this cabin. You can unload your vehicle about a one or two-minute walk from the cabin. We offer hand carts and/or utility sleds for bringing luggage to the cabin. After you've unloaded your vehicle, we'll ask you to park your car back in the parking lot along the side of the road.

Cozy Cabin

Loved this quiet little spot and would be delighted to come back sometime! Had a nice hike down to the beach - property is beautiful. Enjoyed getting cozy in the cabin on a snowy evening after a chilly hike. Nice, clean, comfy space!

Cozy and beautiful locale

What a wonderful experience! The cabin we stayed in was warm and cozy. The trails were well maintained and proximity to the lakeshore was terrific. We lucked out and had a starry night complete with Northern lights! I wish we had spent more than one night’s visit… we will be back!

Great little cabin

Place was very clean, bed was fantastic, lots of little hikes around property, quiet, couldn’t ask for more for the price. Only thing I would add is more light around kitchen area. Thanks for awesome stay!!!

lovely weekend getaway

we had an amazing stay! the cabin was nice and had everything we needed. sunset fires on the beach were a great way to spend our nights! the only note we had is that the trails were not maintained, so we didn’t feel comfortable hiking as much as we would have liked.

Beautiful Location

We had a great stay. We'd love to return. It's a beautiful location. Though there's no modern bathroom facilities attached to the cabin, the short walk to The Lodge was no big deal. The kitchenette was well equipped and we wish we would have had more time there.

Cozy and peaceful

My husband and I loved the little cabin. Like the title is was cozy and peaceful. We had no issues with the bathroom and the real toilets and showers were great. The local trails and lake were easy to get to. My husband and I want to plan another trip to visit again.

Spring Break Getaway

Enjoyed a quiet spring break in this cabin. It was lovely and warm and cozy, with the shore of Lake Superior only a 10-15 minute walk away. Check-in was easy, and the cabin had cooking supplies available. It was a lovely break from being constantly connected, and I'd highly recommend it for a quiet getaway!

Very relaxing and peaceful

Arrived and found everything as was stated in my welcoming email. The cabin was as described and it was exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed a hike to the lake and had a camp fire back at the cabin.

I loved this property. It was very close to Duluth and Superior. It felt very exclusive and it was so peaceful. I loved how they had things in the cabin as in cups, bowls, silverware, a fridge, microwave, etc. As well as the nice fire pit outside of the cabin and how easy it was to get firewood.

Retreat of Solitude

Except for the weather and the ticks, I had a great three days! The cabins are perfect for a private retreat to do a lot of reading. The hikes to the shore of Lake Superior were well worth it. Awesome displays of God's power shown as storms roll in out on the Lake.

A secluded, private spot

I LOVED the Sunrise cabin! It was camping but with a few amenities that made the experience much better than sleeping in a tent. Very peaceful and quiet and only a 10 minute walk to Lake Superior. The showers in the lodge were an added bonus. I definitely will be back and have already shared with friends, encouraging them to check out this awesome place!

Sunrise cabin

Very quiet and secluded. There are trails leading to the lake. Be forewarned though that Porcupine trail isn't well marked or groomed. My stay there was just what I needed. Thank you! 😊

Getaway

It was lovely! The cabin was even a little roomier than expected and the outhouse was heated. I was looking for a solo trip to enjoy the outdoors and this was the perfect place to do so. Curling up with a book by the fire after being out in the cool air was just what the doctor ordered.

Perfect Spot to Unplug and Unwind

We loved our stay at Sunrise cabin. Quiet, private, clean, loved the simplicity. The hosts Hannah and Brad were fantastic and very hospitable…even going out of their way to help us trouble shoot some car trouble. Loved cooking on the campfire. The nature walk to the beach was wonderful and enjoyed the beach area as well. Highly recommend!

It was just as the video showed Usually stay on Northshore at Gardenwood (Seasonal & More expensive) What a pleasant change spent most of my time walking the dog around the trails and the beach on Lake Superior was amazing along with the outlook, went to nearby Amnicon Falls State Park a beautiful attraction. Am already looking to spend time here again

Pleasant stay!

This is a lovely secluded property. Be sure to remember to bring your shower flip flops and toiletries as you’ll be using the communal showers. There is also a sauna on site. No Wi-Fi. This is a great place for a true stay away from it all. Although it’s also close enough to Duluth and Bayfield, WI for some fun day trips.
