Down Hall Hotel

"The experience was magical and the setting was like it was right out a storybook. Tennis was a big part of why we chose this place and brought our own rackets but was happy to learn that they provided tennis rackets and balls to their guests as well. The room was spacious and clean with everything we needed. The Terrace restaurant provided great dining outside and the food was excellent. The staff from check-in to check out were overly accommodating and very friendly and knowledgeable and so helpful no matter what the question. Walking the grounds and the gardens and the Trim trail gave plenty of opportunity to explore the beautiful outdoors and take in all the beauty of this countryside estate. I want to go back to England just to stay at Down Hall and will recommend this place to anyone. For a large event like a wedding or a romantic getaway just for two. We were made feel like royalty and we felt like we were in a castle with all the conveniences of a high end hotel. It was my first time being in England and will definitely include staying at Down Hall for another visit. And stay a little longer the next time. I didn’t want to leave. We had a wonderful surprise experience and it was so romantic, with the historic setting and the large amount of open space to be explored and enjoyed in the daytime and evening time. Top marks all the way."

"The hotel was spotless, the reception staff especially Alice (hopefully that's correct) were amazing, as were the rest of the staff we encountered. Breakfast was great and fresh and the cooked options were not greasy as we find quite often in other hotels. The room was great, quiet and clean. We would have given 5 stars but unfortunately even though everything else about this hotel was perfect, the bed and the pillows made for an uncomfortable sleep, the pillows felt like they were full of small pieces of foam and the mattress wasn't much better."

"Spring cottage was the perfect location and size for us to host our daughter and her 5 bridesmaids for her wedding at Gaynes Park. The girls loved being together in the older half of the cottage and we loved our suite in the new part of the cottageWe stayed at the hottest part of the year with extreme temperatures but the older parts of the property downstairs kept remarkably coolThank you for a comfortable and relaxing stay.Alison and Francis"

"The hotel and bar were lovely; the only thing to mention was the live music in the bar was incredibly loud from the bedroom but if you don’t need an early night on Friday or Saturday it’s a lovely place to stay. By chance, I only interacted with Lily on the staff all weekend and she was attentive, accommodating and very friendly throughout my stay. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay!"

"Everything was beautifully clean and well presented. Having most of the bedrooms downstairs suited our (mostly elderly) group and Holly was helpful in working out which bedrooms suited each of us. Being able to choose between single and King beds for each room gave us the flexibility we needed for our group. The bathrooms were spacious and inviting and well stocked with towels. The kitchen had everything we could have needed and the lounge and dining areas had plenty of room. We were even able to enjoy sitting outside when the sun came out."
