"This “hotel” had so much potential, which honestly made the experience more disappointing. It’s described as a boutique hotel, but in reality it’s more of a refurbished motel with a separate building for the restaurant, lounge, and “front desk.” While the photos make it look charming and thoughtfully designed, in person it felt worn and had an overpowering scent that seemed intentionally pumped into the space. Check-in and check-out were also odd—I only saw someone once, and no one was around when I left. But the biggest issue was the cleanliness. The common areas were noticeably dirty, with unvacuumed rugs, rock salt scattered around, and a general buildup of debris. The back hallway leading to the rooms was even worse—you could feel grit under your feet, and there was potting soil spilled from a plant that clearly hadn’t been cleaned up. The room itself was cuter and somewhat cleaner, though very dark (which made me wonder if that was intentional). The decor had a fun Moroccan-meets-Cuban vibe, which I appreciated. Still, small details—like watered-down hand soap—added to the overall sense of neglect. Overall, I was really bummed. This was meant to be a special anniversary getaway, and while it wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, the website feels misleading and the lack of cleanliness overshadowed everything else. It also made me worry that there were other unhygenic things underfoot that just weren't visible."

"The house is large with great space inside and out. The beds and pillows were comfortable and the kitchen is functional. The location in between Stockbridge and Lenox was great. Cons: ladybug infestation upstairs was pretty disgusting, the dishwasher is in an odd location, and 2 of the doors accessible to the outside didn’t lock. The property manager responded quickly when we brought these issues to him but nothing was done to fix the locks. We had a nice stay but don’t think we would revisit this property. "

"As a group of moms needing a short getaway, this house was perfect! It is so warm and inviting immediately upon entering, and the decor is as beautiful (and spotless) as it is comfy! We loved the location, with just a short drive to so many different towns, and couldn’t have asked for anything more. Will definitely be back! "

"I had not visited the Ponds for 30 years. It has not gracefully aged. Condo unit has not been updated since it was built in the early 70s and it shows. Drafty and slightly damaged doors, slow drains in the bathrooms, furniture and rugs that show damage and age, and a clubhouse in need of updating. Front desk staff not very friendly or useful, odd because they don’t have a lot of foot traffic this time of the season. There are other similar facilities in the area that might be worth exploring versus this tired old place."

"I could not think of a better place to stay in the Berkshires. The house is clean and comfortable and has a ton of amenities. The host is very accommodating. The pool and sauna were such welcome bonuses!"
