Bundeena Base Cottage

Modern newly built cottage in the beautiful village of Bundeena. This property has been designed for outside/inside living. Two enormous bifold doors opens up the living area to a level grassed area with patio ideal for enjoying the best of BBQs with friends and family.

Water glimpses, the North facing cottage, is bathed in light, and just a few meters from the beach. All doors are extra wide, allowing for easy wheelchair access.

If you are bringing a dog, please get in touch before booking as we do have some conditions of stay, simple stuff but important to be aware of.

Holiday

Great stay

Base-camp is a good descriptor for this modern cottage. It is well situated for a short walk to Gunya , Jibbon and Hordens beaches. Also short walk to Bundeena shops and Salty Pearl bar. It has clean modern styling and comfortable and functional, quiet and private. Hilda was a terrific host, very helpful and thoughtful. Great place to stay.

Everything you need for a relaxing beach getaway in style.

Beautiful and thoughtfully designed space, well done to the host Hilde. It had everything we needed and more to feel comfortable and relaxed for our 3 night stay over New Years. The coffee machine a pods provided us with very nice coffee every morning. We also enjoyed the extra treats that were in the fridge, very nice touch. It was clean, even the towels and bedding smelt fresh and felt crisp and clean. Beautiful beaches within walking distance, Jibbon beach was great for kids and was clean and quiet even on New Years Day. Enjoyed a short stroll down to Bundeena shops for ice cream one evening. Perfect facilities for a summer bbq as the outdoor space has a shade awning which is easy to operate. It was great having a laundry to give our beach towels a quick rinse and spin after 2 days of use at the beach. We wish we stayed longer as the weather was wonderful. Will definitely consider coming back again.

Fantastic Cottage

Had an amazing 10 night stay! Property is clean and modern with all the mod cons, all the necessities supplied, down to a coffee machine with pods! Great indoor/outdoor feel. Perfect location, within walking distance to the beaches, ferry, restaurants & cafes. Hilde and David were great hosts from time of booking to our last day. Hope to return again!

A great location

We really enjoyed our stay. Hilde met us upon our arrival and made us feel very welcome. The cottage is lovely and new and clean. The location is incredible with beaches and town within easy walk. Very dog friendly. The layout inside is compact but has everything we needed. The only down side is the amount of exposure to passers-by, it was difficult to feel any privacy unless the blinds were drawn. We anticipate that once the Lillypillly matures it will provide some screening. Thank you Hilde for a wonderful stay.

Beautiful cottage

My daughter and I had a lovely stay at the Bundeena cottage for 3 nights. It was very clean and modern, with all the facilities you could need. The host Hilde was so helpful and a pleasure to deal with. I would highly recommend staying at the Bundeena cottage.

Beautiful stay

Hilde and David were excellent hosts. We travelled with a 5 mth old and they even provided a baby bath which was wonderful. The cottage was compact but very well designed and carefully thought out. Even with a toddler running around, it didn’t feel too small. We will definitely be back!

A nice pet-friendly place to relax in Bundeena

We had such a wonderful 4-day stay. The place is immaculate with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. It’s on a quiet street and very close to the beach. Hilde and David are very responsive hosts. Would definitely stay here again.

Lovely quiet getaway

We enjoyed our lovely quiet getaway in Bundeena just before the Christmas rush. Literally, a few minutes walk from the water - we enjoyed not having to get into the car during our stay and just walked everywhere - to the water, or the local IGA. There's a handy hose out front to wash the sand off our feet and puppy when we returned from our beach walks. As most of the cafes and restaurants were closed during our stay - we enjoyed some homecooked meals (we had gotten tired of eating out at hotels, restaurants etc by this time!). Cooking was supported by the fully equipped kitchen - oven, dishwasher. The mattress was a little on the firmer side for our liking (we are medium sleeping duck fans!) however everything else was very very comfortable, and homely touches like homemade bread and access to a coffee machine made the stay very enjoyable and self-contained. Hilda met us when we arrived to helpfully explain things about the bungalow - like how to open and attach the glass sliding doors so they're protected in case of the coastal wind and how to work the gas stove. Wonder if it might help to have a little booklet providing the information - like some of the other Stayz and BnB's we attended - to bring communication ease to the host and stayer? Regardless, Hilda was very quick with her responses to our queries via messaging - i.e when we needed to work out which light switch operated the outside lights (as some are dimmers). All in all - a lovely relaxing and quiet stay! Great Host, Great location. Highly recommend it if you're tired of staying in hotels and just want a little bit of peace and quiet and a comfortable home away from home close to the water.

Perfect family hideaway

A well appointed and exceptionally clean and beautifully presented property. Hilde was a wonderful and communicative host and we had a great weekend away in Bundeena staying at this place. We will be back and would definitely recommend it!
