"Good for what you need. A little bit of a walk to central but easy tram or train connections. Lovely but comfortable bed with decent size TV. Unfortunately there was mould in our room by the wardrobes. We weren’t in the room enough to really be bothered by it. Also you get given 2 coffee pods and then our room wasn’t cleaned for the whole weekend so no refill and my partner asked for a coffee, was made one and it was added to our bill! Would have been nice to know there’s a charge or be told to ask to clean the room/get more coffee. Overall we were happy with our stay and very pleasant staff members! For the price, it does the job! Also you can only smoke the special tobacco out the front."

"Great experience at the Met. Very well kept, great breakfast, and easy access to several trains. It’s important to know it’s in a relatively residential area, not in the thick of the tourist areas, so restaurants, and attractions are a train or bike ride away. For us that was a plus. Only minor critique was that we could have used a mini fridge because multiple grocery stores are nearby but the room was otherwise comfortable and well appointed. The bar area/front desk doubles as an Internet cafe of sorts so it was a cool mix of people throughout the day. We were very happy all around."

"I liked that everything was card only charges. I hated the bedroom head board or non existence of. Where was I supposed to put my pillow to rest my head for reading or using a tablet. Silly gap with a lovely picture did not work for us. Bed a bit hard but all in all okay."

"A wonderful stay during our visit to Amsterdam. May 19-22, 2026. Large room, well maintained. Liked having the refrigerator. Great breakfast. Quiet neighborhood setting with easy access to restaurants, grocery stores, and tram. We were able to get wherever we wanted to go in the city. Staff gave us great directions to use the train and trams from the airport saving us a lot of money. We did have to walk a couple of blocks from tram drop off with our luggage but that was no problem. Will definitely stay here again in another visit to Amsterdam. Just know that the Annex rooms has no elevator but staff helped us with our big suitcases. Appreciated that!"

"Amsterdam is an expensive city, and this place served its purpose by providing a clean and affordable place to stay. Overall, the room appeared clean; however, the fans in the room were noticeably dusty and could benefit from a thorough deep clean, as they circulate dust around the room. One aspect I found inconvenient was the location of the restrooms. They were situated on the ground floor directly opposite reception. If privacy or modesty is important to you, this may not be the ideal setup. Had I known this in advance, I would have specifically requested or chosen a room on the ground floor to avoid repeatedly going up and down and walking through a public area to access the facilities. That said, there is no doubt that this is a quirky and unique place to stay. I genuinely appreciated the creativity and effort that has gone into making it different from a standard hotel or hostel experience. Its character and individuality are part of its charm. Overall, for a budget-friendly stay in Amsterdam, it met my basic needs while offering something a little different."
