"I really enjoyed my stay at Hostal Ballesta in Madrid. One thing I really liked was the room with computers, almost like a small workspace. It was very handy and a great idea, as I have not really seen that in a hotel before. My double room was very nice, spacious and comfortable, with a good desk and a smart TV, which made it easy to relax and also get things done. The location was also excellent, just a short walk from Gran Vía, with plenty of food places, bars, shops and metro links nearby. The only thing I did not like was that the same workspace room also had a communal fridge and microwave for guests to store and heat food. I think this should ideally be in a separate room, as it takes away from the workspace feel. Overall, a very good stay in a great location, with a nice room and helpful facilities."

"I loved the hotel. Centrally located. Very clean. The staff were amazing, especially the porters. I am planning to return and have recommended this hotel to my friends. The breakfast is fantastic. Every aspect of the hotels operation is structured. Loved how well everything flowed. I was actually sad to leave. I didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop but did go there and it was beautiful. It was crowded and the staff kept the line for non hotel guests moving. We didn’t have to stand in line since we were hotel guests, great perk. Would love to go when the pool is open, we didn’t get to enjoy that either."

"Well maintained modern central Madrid hotel with staff that couldn't have been more helpful during my stay. The room was smart, clean & well-finished but looked out onto a ventilation shaft so the only way of seeing the sky was to hang out the window & look up! It also limited the amount of natural light reaching the room. There was a well-stocked fridge but no access to a kettle unless you hired it for your stay. Breakfast was plentiful. The evening menu was quite limited but there are so many restaurants within easy walking distance that it wasn't an issue. Stayed in a single room during my stay."

"The room was clean. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was very excellent. The issues….firstly, the first room we were in was next to a room under construction. The banging and drilling and hammering began early and ended late. We were woken up by the noise and disturbed by the noise in the afternoon. We asked just to be moved to a room of the same class as we were in but without noise. The 2nd room was so small we were tripping over each other. It was probably 1/2 the size of the previous one. The bathroom was so tiny that 2 people could not be in it at the same time. The room was clean. The amenities were fine BUT it was definately no where near the value of the other room. We were so tired that we found a way to make ourselves comfortable as we were not moving again! We also want to note…the walls were so thin we heard the water running, the hair dryer blowing, and the conversations of the room next to us. As far as location…you can’t ask for better. As far as staff etc…..they were truly professional. Other than the room, our stay was great."
