Camel's Garden Hotel

6/10 Okay

"Overall, this is a decent hotel with a good location. The room was spacious and featured a gas fireplace, which added a nice touch. We also had access to a small private backyard/patio area, which made the stay feel more unique and enjoyable. The hotel is conveniently located, and the property itself is attractive and interesting. However, the parking fee was almost $40 per night, which felt excessive. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The selection was very limited, and there were not many options available. Another downside was the bathroom amenities. There was no body wash provided, and the shampoo and conditioner dispensers were extremely inconvenient to use. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are definitely areas that could be improved, especially considering the price."

"WARNING: DO NOT STAY HERE UNDER THIS MANAGEMENT. This was one of the worst lodging experiences I have ever had. The issue was not that the unit lacked air conditioning — that was expected. The issue was that the bedroom became unbearably hot, and the only realistic way to get any ventilation was to open the window. But the window had NO SCREEN. When I cracked the window because the room was so hot, mosquitoes and insects came in, and I was bitten. So the choice was either sleep in an unbearably hot room or open an unscreened window and get bitten. That is completely unacceptable. Neil, the property manager, was rude, condescending, dismissive, and unprofessional. He initially said the screen would be replaced within 24 hours. That did not happen. Then he ignored my follow-up messages for days. When he finally responded, he admitted screens take weeks to measure and fit and claimed they “don’t use screens anywhere” in their condos — even though other units visibly had screens. He refused to meaningfully address the problem, refused to take responsibility, and refused to refund the remaining stay after failing to complete the repair he promised. Future guests should avoid this unit / manager."

"Two issues: There was construction going on next door (a brand new building, so it will be going on for months!). The staff put us in the room closest to the construction noise - which started at 7:30 am. Not a crime to want to sleep in on vacation, right?! THEN, the hotel was painting all the wood balconies and they were on the other side of the room! Really? The workers were actually looking right into our room! I asked the front desk what their occupancy was before I told the staff that I wanted to move rooms. They were less than 50%! Why in the world would you not automatically think of your guests and their comfort and put them away from all construction!! They did move us, which was a better room- but we had already spent one night and had to pack up everything to move. Not convenient to say the least. I asked for some compensation and they “could not do anything because we booked with Expedia. Really? 2). My husband had a medical emergency and we asked to move our reservation by a day. We called the hotel directly and also had Expedia call them. They said everything was non-refundable and treated us with a lack of respect because we booked with a “third party”. There are lots of choices to stay- so I would choose another hotel if we go back."

"Great location but people were there to party. Next door left lights on all night shining into our faces. Also unit says small kitchen but not conducive to cooking. Stovetop never worked. Wish we knew that before buying groceries "
