Insta-worthy Waterfront Cottage with Hot Tub

"We had a great stay here! The hot tub was so much fun, and we really enjoyed the kayaks. The water right in the backyard was so clear and beautiful, and we got to see some amazing sunsets and sunrises right from the house.The kitchen had everything we needed, including lots of cookware, utensils, and even different seasonings and spices, which made cooking here really easy. The kids had a blast making s’mores too!The location was great, with grocery stores and restaurants just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!"

"We had a wonderful stay at the Cottage on Mink River Road! Check in and out were easy and the property was very clean. All the beds were comfortable and we had all the dishes we needed. We liked the proximity to all of Door County. We spent one day on Washington Island and it was nice to have the ferry dock so near by. Some things to be aware of: we had no cell service at the property and there is no wi-fi. We could get service in the nearby town of Ellison Bay though. Thank you for sharing your home!"

"The inside of the home was nicely finished and comfortable. Beds were comfy as well. I appreciated having a lot of kitchen space to store the food we brought. Charming and clean inside. I would have liked to have had the option to turn off the air-conditioning to allow for a lovely Door County breeze. The outside seating area was really nice to have. Communication with the owner was effective and we appreciated their extra accommodation. We loved being within walking distance of distance from several Ellison Bay attractions. We had to purchase toilet paper, paper towels and I’m glad I brought coffee filters. I cleaned the coffee pot with vinegar and it worked much better. Thank you for a great place to stay!!!"

"Overall it's a lovely chalet in a quiet nook far atop a beautiful forested bluff view of the bay. You can hike down to the coast or take a 5m drive to the community center where they have a very nice and well maintained beach complete with restrooms, no fees. The water was plenty warm enough to swim and the kids played their hearts out, there's even a playground. The only takeaway regardless of the pool being down for repairs; was the stress of the neighbors. Once you enter you're greeted with a sign essentially informing you that the neighbors don't want you there. This created an unnecessary stress on our vacation that left a looming feeling anytime we were present at the chalet. This was reinforced by the strained conversational encounters I had with the neighbors. 2 walked past me on the drive where I extended a "hello, how're you?" and received a thousand yard stare alongside a terse "fine" from the gentleman. The face of the lady accompanying him was a genuinely friendly smile followed by a hello. She actually stopped and spoke with me later. Very friendly, informed me of some past problems but said we'd been fine. Ultimately it's a fair expense to stay somewhere and feel unwelcome. While many may not care what the neighbors think, I don't like feeling as if my family's behavior is being graded while on vacation. Others may feel differently"

"We had a nice multi-generational stay at this home which is very well located for adventures in Door County. We loved Ellison Bay - a fairly quiet community with a small beach and park (both walkable though if you’re taking beach chairs and equipment, you’d probably want a car). We highly recommend the onion rings at Mink River Basin and almost anything from the Blue Bear for brunch - both a short walk from the house. And then it was a quick drive to Seaquist Orchards (pick up some cherries) and Sister Bay (the Creamery had amazing ice cream). The deck space is lovely with a cowboy pool, a hot tub and a sauna (we found the sauna difficult to use but it might have just been us). One bedroom is directly off the kitchen so be aware of that from a noise perspective. And the bathroom on the first floor can only be accessed from that bedroom by walking through the kitchen. We liked the game room above the garage, especially with it having a full bathroom. The master bedroom upstairs had a very squeaky bedframe, hopefully that will be replaced. While the host was responsive to the issues that we encountered, there were a few delays in hearing back and lots of requests for more information, photos and videos. It wouldn’t make me hesitate before booking again."

"The house was clean and home-y. We enjoyed the seclusion and even saw deer in the backyard. The location was the perfect jumping-off-point for us to explore Washington Island and Rock Island."
