"The hotel is ideally situated - while not being in an immediately picturesque location, its proximity to the M6, A66 and Penrith North Lakes railway station make it the perfect base for exploring the beauty of the Lake District in one direction and Yorkshire in the other. The staff are excellent, particularly in the FYR restaurant: friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is equally impressive and the hotel itself is clean, comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. "
"What a fantastic Hotel pleasure to stay here all modern furniture and comfortable beds.
Staff were great too couldn’t do enough for you and a great full English breakfast.
Definitely be back "
"What a haven after my drive from Scotland - superbly welcoming staff and explanation of room upon my arrival - was a wonderful final night of my trip returning to Norfolk the next day - thanks to all staff !!"
"Lovely hotel in a lovely village. Very clean, and we had a very spacious room on the top floor. Note - no lift and no aircon though. Wonderful outdoor patio areas, private resident seating area in the bar which was lovely and the breakfast was superb."

"A really nice B&B. Very comfortable and welcoming. The owner, Vickie was very helpful and friendly. Unusually for hotels, it has Sky tv in the room which was a nice bonus. We'd definitely say here again. Highly recommended. "
"The hotel is located in a beautiful area, with stunning views.

"Very slick check-in with staff who clearly know their job, are all over the systems and clearly want you to have the best stay possible. Robes and slippers are available to use if visiting the pool or spa. Spacious, quiet room with tea/coffee making facilities and quality toiletries. Choice of pillows and large comfortable bed.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings. The food choice was wide, well cooked and presented invitingly. However, the waitress who served us both evenings obviously knew “the drill” of her role, but in reality was far from assisting you to have a positive dining experience. She was going through the motions and really gave the impression that she did not want to be there. She did neither take nor act on criticisms seriously, appearing not to care if you enjoyed your dining experience or not. She chewed , presumably, gum throughout the service and was extremely sullen at all times.
This is a very comfortable hotel and gives very good value for money."
