My family of four stayed in this lovely inn at the end of December 2015. We were looking for a place to stay between attending a Manchester United Football game and visiting the English countryside. This location was perfect! It allowed us to stay out of the city in a more relaxed and less commercial inn, so that we could truly get a feel for the area. Excellent stay as always, particularly for the Everton home games. could not be better located. Would like a little leeway on the 11am strict checkout time, but understand the need to turn the rooms over when busy. Front desk staff are great, always welcoming and all other staff are always available to help with any requests.

While planning our trip to the UK, my daughter and I wanted to either stay at a Manor house or Castle. Middlethorpe Hall was the perfect choice. It is several miles outside York, but less than 10 minutes by uber or taxi. The staff was gracious and solicitous. We arrived just in time for tea. The food was fantastic, generous, and the location in the the ball room facing the beautiful green lawn was exactly what we had hoped for. A beautiful top-notch property in York. Centrally located a 4 minute walk from the train station and 8/9 minute walk to York Minster and old town York. Plenty of stores and eating facilities all within walking distance. The hotel itself and attentive staff plus very spacious and well appointed rooms made our stay a real pleasure.
