"A very tired, once charming hotel. In my “deluxe suite” the Roman blind was broken and the room generally had clearly not been decorated for some time. Breakfast was appealing. The choice was exceptionally limited and of poor quality. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast on the disk rat morning. I was served some greasy egg on untoasted, sliced wholemeal bread topped with a fistful of unevenly chopped chives. "I booked a deluxe room but we stayed in a standard room. We were only there for one night so I couldn’t be bothered to kick up a fuss.
There was a big stain on the carpet and the air con wasn’t great.
Otherwise a comfortable stay. The staff were attentive and pleasant.
The setting is magnificent but the hotel itself feels a little tired in places.
Free parking was a great perk."
