The Kingston Hotel

6/10 Okay

"We had previously stayed here last year and thought it was a great hotel for the price and proximity to downtown. We liked the free shuttle service they offered ti downtown as well. This year we noticed that the shuttle service had very limited times compared to last year. We had also asked that a maintenance person be sent to our room for the bathroom door. It was not lined up making it impossible to close the door completely. We never got that taken care of, even after asking several times. Overall it was a good stay. Would be nice if they offered some form of continental breakfast. We also tried to pay for breakfast on our last day and were told the cook had an emergency so no one was available. If you are just looking for a nice place to rest without any bells and whistles, I would recommend."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Marriott River Hotel in Savannah. The facility was modern, clean, and the staff were so helpful. The toiletries are lovely too. Great shower, comfy beds, delicious breakfast at Blue. Loved the room service option after a long day. The location is at the east end of the historic district. Still walkable, but a further walk. I highly recommend this hotel. We will be back!"

"First and foremost, the beach and pool were amazing... a gorgeous area. The hotel, though, meh. It was dirty, not well-kept. There is no gym on the grounds, but they give a free pass to a random (and really old) gym about 5 min away. The food and pricing were not worth it either. I will say the staff was great, though. But for the price, I do not recommend it."

"We had a wonderful 3-night stay in room 308. The staff was very accommodating of our late check-in when our flight was delayed. Room 308 is up two flights of narrow stairs which wasn't a problem for us since we didn't have heavy luggage. The room was clean and spacious, and I loved the soaking tub. The bed is higher than normal but they provide a step stool. There was a bit of a musty smell in the room but it was not unusual for being an old house, and it didn't bother me after the first night. The ventilation could be better - there is no fan in the bathroom so it got pretty humid after using the shower. Despite this, the room was well-maintained and comfortable. Would love to stay at this inn again if we return to Savannah!"
