"This is a must place to stop when in Ullapool. When we arrived we were met with a friendly welcome, with an offer of a tot of whiskey and freshly made short bread. The lounge area is very comfortable with excellent views over the loch and mountains in the distance. Our room was very clean and ideal for our stay, again we had views over the loch. Access to the town was a short walk. The town is lovely with views again over the loch. The beds were comfortable and a good night sleep. The breakfast was very tasty and staff were again so friendly and helpful"
Balmacara Hotel

"Things were clean, staff was pleasant. The common areas were a bit run down, and there were strange design choices and amenities in the room. The sink was tiny, like barely big enough for a glass of water tiny, but had a firehose for a faucet. Limited towels and no washcloths. Could not get the room cool enough with the thermostat. Good location, but pricey for the quality."

"We stayed in 12 hotels during our Scottish road trip and this was definitely the best and also very good value for money. The room was very clean and had nice decor. Good quality towels and a large hot shower. Plenty of parking too. Handy for Ullapool's restaurants and a big Tesco just 5 mins walk away."

"Such a beautiful place to stay! All the rooms face the Loch and have kitchenettes with fridge microwave and hot plate. We didn’t even use the kitchen and instead had an amazing dinner at their restaurant. Local venison in my husband’s burger and my Maple glazed chicken were two of the best meals we’ve had in Scotland/ Skye this week! The room was beautifully styled with matching curtains, pillows and red colour accents. Looked very new and the property well maintained. ( Quite the opposite of most other Sky and Scotland hotels we’ve experienced!) Free parking on site. Hot showers and a towel warming rack. We hope to come back and stay again one day!"

"This place was small but cozy and had everything we needed. We loved how the beds upstairs were one soft and one firm (suited our personal needs). We were spoilt with the dryer as many other places don’t provide this with the washing machine. The decorations were fun and quirky and we felt right at home."
