"The hotel is in a great location, high up, with great views of the Abbey and the town. There are steps up to the hotel from the town or you can walk up the road (Khyber Pass). There is limited onsite parking which needs to be booked in advance. Room 2 was clean and had a new carpet and bed. It was quite a large room with a sea view. "Beautiful hotel right in the heart of Whitby, lots of restaurants around and a short walk from the famous 199 steps.
Good value and friendly staff. The supply of shampoo and conditioner was a thoughtful addition. "
"I really liked this, used to live in Whitby so like coming home. The food is excellent apart from Trenchers which was down on last years although the service was good.

"Nutshell is a really lovely little place to stay, ideal for couples and close to the town. There was a bit of noise on Halloween but that’s to be expected in Whitby - the other two nights were very quiet.

"We stayed in room 17, parrot room. Very large space. TV was obscured by 4 poster bed frame, would be better above mantle.
The room is by the front door, and the room above must be wooden floored as we heard a lot of footsteps/lpud thuds on the ceiling.
