Newly remodeled, cozy cottage only steps away from the Katy Trail in Windsor, MO

"The Broken Spoke" nightly rental sits on just over a quiet acre of land only steps from the Katy Trail and minutes from local restaurants and shopping. We can accommodate up to six in the house, we have camping space available for larger groups upon request, as well as extended stay rates. 1-2 people $100, and up to six $125. The home has been remodeled with new floors, kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops, and appliances. There is a firepit, grill, and outdoor seating under an abundance of shade trees! Experience small town living in Windsor, Missouri; where the Rock Island and the Katy Trails connect, a large Amish community, only 15 miles from Whiteman Air Force Base the home of the amazing B-2 bomber, and so much more! We look forward to meeting you!

Wonderful Stay

My children loved the big yard to run around in. We saw many different wildlife near by. Great place to have our local family to visit while we stayed. Would like to stay again if we come back to the area.

Perfect place to stop while riding the Katy Trail

Could not ask for a better place to stay after a long bike ride. Clean, comfortable and right off the trail. Within easy walking distance to restaurants.

Beautiful, clean place.

I wanted an escape to nature. This wasn't it. The newly renovated home/cabin was very clean & convenient inside. Faced directly at another property & backed by a questionable neighborhood. Comfortable, amenities were many.

Perfect stop right on the Katy Trail! All was just as described in the listing. Close to shopping areas to stock up on food and supplies. Sent stay request on Friday after 6pm to arrive on Saturday and host replied within an hour that late reservation was no problem and property would be ready for my stay.
Clean, bright with plenty of room.

We had a great time - we came to walk the Katy Trail. This little cottage was great - the only thing that was difficult was very limited kitchen supplies and we brought our own food...otherwise met our needs perfectly! The owners were so helpful. Thank you!

Quaint

Great little place! We really appreciated that it was fully loaded with everything we needed so we were able to travel light. It was close to every where we needed to go. We only had one little hiccup with the hot water not working and they were very prompt on getting that taken care of for us. If we ever come back to this area we would definitely stay here again!

We stayed here for one night while we were riding the Katy Trail. The place was clean, easy to access and right off the trail. There were three adults in my party, two over the age of 60 and me. Our plan was to have the two older guys stay in the twin beds. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the house, we discovered that the two twin beds were in a converted attic, only accessible by a metal ladder (which did not seem super safe). This complete shifted our sleeping plans and led to a night of sleeplessness. I would recommend that the property description be updated to let people know that the twin beds are only accessible by ladder.

The home is very cute and the updates are nice. We had trouble figuring out where the second bedroom was because it wasn't clear in the on-line posting that it is in the attic and can only be accessed by a pull-down ladder in the dining room ceiling; thankfully that wasn't an issue for us.

Awesome Location for Katy Trail Rides

A wonderful location for riding the Katy trail and Rock Island Spur out of Windsor. The kitchen is spacious and we were grateful for good A/C. Things you'll want to know if traveling with older people or a group… The bed on the main floor is a full size. The twin beds are in an attic space and accessible only via a ladder through the hatch. The sofa bed is quite uncomfortable.

We had a great experience with the broken spoke rental property. It was easily found and a great over night stop for us coming down from MN to pick up our adoption cat in Sedalia the following day 12/10. Had a little communication issue at first but after a phone call all went smoothly and would love to come back again!

Easy Katy Trail Access

This is a great house for anyone riding the Katy Trail. The property is right on the trail. Comfy, clean and well supplied. We found everything set up for easy use. Quiet area on the edge of town. Chalk rock road does make things outside dusty when the little bit of traffic goes by. Some of the traffic will be horse and buggy for the area's Amish community.

This will be perfect for a quiet getaway

The house has been redone SO nicely! Very cozy and comfortable. I LOVED all the outdoor amenities like the chairs outside, the porch being clean, different areas to relax. I sat outside and enjoyed hearing the crickets in the summer night on the quiet dirt road. It would be good for a small family or adult getaway in a tucked in little town. “Travel by Gravel” was very fitting!! Thank you !

Cute Quiet Getaway

The Broken Spoke is a cute little updated house. The town is quiet and safe, and Katy trail runs through it. It's located about an hour from Kansas City and has several options for supper about 30 minutes away. Jessica was great to work with, and check-in/checkout went smoothly. We would definitely stay here again!

Great price for a group big or small

Having only a party of two, we were more than accommodated. I could see this cute property comfortably fitting a group triple the size and for a great price. Clean, all amenities in order, and with a nice market just around the corner.
