"An ordinary apartment in an apartment building by a main road. Some noise, naturally, both from the street and in the building - you hear everything from neighbours above and in the hallways. The bath needs renovating, the shower is close to worthless. Cleaning once through ten days. Tried to call An Island Apart a few times, but there was just a voice mail in Portuguese - and I did not get a call back. Locking your self out would probably be a big problem. "The property is close to the Lido Promenade and the views of the Madeira sunset from the balcony are stunning. The apartment is in a well maintained building and had all we needed for a very comfortable stay. The communications with the rental company were very good. They sent videos via WhatsApp to show us how to enter the building and the apartment, where the garbage facilities were located, and other useful information. Lots of pros and no cons. We will certainly look to rebook next year."

"My sister and I had a very enjoyable stay at the Flame Tree Hotel, It was small ,very compact and clean and tidy. The food was good and home cooked ...and generous portions. The staff were extremely helpful and interested in what their guests were doing and how they had enjoyed their days. I had a slight accident on our last night and the staff deAlt with it efficiently and with compassion... All in all a lovely little hotel. "
