"The staff were lovely and anttentive, the food was great and the hotel is conveniently located. Overall, a decent stay but not good enough to return. It is looking rather dated now and needs some TLC. The rooms are bland and could do with a picture or two and the spa area isn’t the best, it needs a clean if I’m honest! "

"This hotel was a trip highlight. Stunning building, easy parking and delicious breakfast. Huge bathroom and possibly the cleanest we have ever seen in a hotel. Fresh air, friendly staff and we would love to have stayed longer. Special hour out to the stocks in the kids playground. Love it!"

"Have stayed the last couple of weeks and cant fault the place at all, very helpful and friendly staff, nice rooms - stayed in the cottage room last week and Deluxe room this week, cottage ones are fine and have everything you need.. Deluxe are nuch bigger with seperate seating area etc, well worth the extra if you want a treat..."

"In the centre of Masham so easy to walk around the town and just a short walk from Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre. Great base for touring dales. Relaxed atmosphere and very dog friendly."

"This is a lovely place to stay, very peaceful and quiet and close to Barnard Castle. The staff are friendly and the service was excellent. The rooms are as good as they look on the photos. Good WiFi and place to catch up on work near the bar area. I see it is a Wedding venue too, I’d say it’s a great place for a party. "

"Brilliant place for a short stay, we stayed 1 night and it was lovely the room was very clean and tidy the bed was comfortable there are no draws for clothes but for a short stay it didnt matter. Breakfast was included there was a selection of cereal, toast and cooked breakfast to order which was very nice. "Great, friendly/welcoming bar/front of house staff it makes a difference. Room was comfortable with a great shower, fluffy towels and very clean. Sunday lunch and the Thai fish cakes were tasty along with a good English breakfast. Very nice area and some awesome country walks nearby, a definite return when travelling up north. "

"The area was amazing . The room was well appointed however I had a couple of issues. I had little or no hot water / heating throughout my visit. There was an infestation of fleas in the kitchen window area. The fridge door shelf was broken meaning I couldn’t store orange juice in it. However with all this aside , I really enjoyed my stay and the bar has some of the best Guinness I’ve ever had."

"Mark is a wonderful host who really cares about your experience. The rooms are comfortable with a fridge and iron just outside if you require them. The breakfast is delicious and dietary requirements are well researched and catered for which is very much appreciated The bed is comfy with nice full pillows and duvet. There is a heater to keep you toasty when it’s cold in June! The location is excellent for Thirsk centre and right next to a big Tesco. The only thing missing was a full length...
