"Small and friendly hotel within walking distances of Lucca walls and river. Staff treated us like royalty- nothing was too much. Needed a dip in the refreshing pool after humidity of Lucca. Breakfast was brilliant and even had bacon and scrambled eggs."

"5 minutes walk from the railway station in Lucca and only 5 minutes walk to the walled city. The Rex hotel was very clean and comfortable throughout, the staff were friendly and attentive to our needs, as my wife is disabled. The continental breakfast was adequate with no limit on eating."

"Stayed in the the Junior suit with a balcony and beautiful view. The staff is so friendly and helpful like a big family! Typical Italian rustic style but very charming hotel. Lucca only about 8 minutes away by car. Will come back again! Breakfasts are the same every day which is a bit boring . We would like to have more options like a fruit salad / soft fruit and tomatoes and eggs to choose from. Other than that - lovely place to stay. Thank you all for looking after us . "We turned up in late September and everything was closed it was like a ghost town. There was no mention of this is the hotel ad which I think was pretty misleading even there private beach was closed. We decided to not stay and moved on it felt like we were the only people in the whole place "
