"Couldn’t have been better. It was such an amazing building in a wonderful central location. The communal lounge was traditionally decorated and so relaxing. The room was large and relaxing with top quality furnishings, super large comfy bed. Bathroom was great with a nice strong shower. Our host was enthusiastic, friendly and very helpful. We took his advice and went to the Puccini theatre performance and museum. We hope to visit again. Lucca is fabulous and not to be missed."

"I so thoroughly enjoyed my stay at La Gemma di Elena! It is a lovely property situated near the city center- walking distance to everything you might want to see. Around the corner from the Piazza del Anfiteatro. The property appears to have been someone's flat at one point- and is now divided into several guest rooms and a large entry room where a tasty breakfast is served every morning. Located on a large private lot with a beautiful garden, the accommodation is like an Italian art palace inside, with high ceilings, big windows, overstuffed chairs, fine sculptures, paintings and large mirrors on the wall, Persian rugs on the floor, and marble everywhere. There is a covered veranda and a large garden in back, with a lawn, big shade trees, a trellis with roses, garden paths, geraniums, terra cotta pots and various marble statues and busts. ...
