"The hotel is a little way from the town centre but is walkable. there is a local tram service directly in front of the hotel for moving around the town. It is a modern hotel with efficient self check-in, clean rooms with nice touch like the free bottle of water included and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would I stay here again for my business trip, yes I really would."

"We stayed in the family apartment. The bedroom was clean, spacious and comfortable. The main room was extremely spacious even with the sofa bed made up. The kitchen was well catered with a fridge and hob and any kit we needed to cater for ourselves. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. Hot food, cereals, fruit & pastries etc. along with a wide selection of teas and coffees. Will most definitely stay here again!"

"All good but when I tired to check in the receptionist told me I can't stay in hotel becouse I don't work in Germany. After long conversation I was allowed to stay. In the morning was very loud noise from out side. There is garage very closed to hotel. Overall good service,very clean, nice room."

A bit on expensive side for the location but considering the event going on, UEFA championship it was a very good choice we made. The area around was not the greatest one. "The hotel is lovely, spotless, comfy, great beds and best of all has opening windows for actual fresh air!! The car park is payable and there also a city tax on arrival. We even rented a couple of brollies from the machine in reception! It is a short walk to the U-bahn into town and there are a couple of very nice Italian restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast is adequate (it is a budget hotel after all!) and we would happily stay here again. "

"Staff is nice, The hotel is clean. House keeping every 3days, and there’s no room service, There’s absolutely no extra services at this hotel except breakfast. There’s not even a vending machine If you run out of water. "

The room was adequate, the bathroom was a bit tight, felt like in a space capsule. Sleep was comfortable. Had a desk to do my remote work. Walking distance to the U-Bahn station. "Hotel Alte Redaktion is a lovely hotel, newly renovated. It is directly off the main road of Gevelsberg so very easy to get around by foot or car from the hotel. I stayed in a double room and it was a good size. The common front area of the hotel is a welcoming place and good for a beer and a chat with other guests. Finally, the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Debs at the front desk was very cool as was the breakfast crew. Thanks for a great stay."
