"The hotel is a bit out of town and very peaceful. Lovely view of the hills. Checkin was friendly and welcoming. Room was rather bland and slightly 1970s, but clean and well kept. Most importantly it was warm a comfortable and I got a good night’s sleep. The bar closed very early which was a shame as I’d arranged to meet a friend at 9pm but by then all was in darkness. So no room for loads of big bags but a really clean comfortable warm room. Instant heat tor electric shower and basin. Electric towel rail Electric radiator is more than sufficient for the room. "The Cain Valley is steeped in tradition and about as far from todays modern chain hotels as you can get. Great service, fair prices, good beer and enthusiastic staff. Very much a breath of fresh air. Its also well frequented by the locals - which is usually a good sign. but can get a little noisy at closing time. So recommend you ask for a room not over the Public Bar."

A lot of money has been spent on the rooms but not cleaned properly and why have a posh coffee water heater for beverages in room which you cant fill up under the tap???
