"Booked 3 day's as a couple with a friendly dog. On arrival we were greeted warmly by a staff member (apologies forgot the ladies name), who explained and apologised the apartment we had booked was unfortunately unavailable due to having unexpected maintenance. We were shown to room 4, very clean and well laid out. Although there were not the facilities of a self-contained apartment which we had booked, this room met all our other needs. This could happen at any property, and totally understand. We only mention this to show the management overcame an issue and resolved the problem to our (the customer) satisfaction. Job well done. Good selection of tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits and bottled water in the room. Whenever we met the staff/owners they were friendly and attentive. There felt to be a nice caring atmosphere in this hotel. We had breakfast on two days - day 1, continental x1 and cooked breakfast x1. Day 2, continental x2. Both continental and cooked breakfast were fresh/plentiful and good quality, enjoyed by both of us. Again staff were attentive, but not overbearing whilst having breakfast. Would we recommend/stay at the Kings Hotel again? - YES Thanks again to all staff, for enhancing our stay at the Isle of Man."

The staff and other locals we met were very welcoming and the food that we sampled during our stay was of a high standard. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds. "The room was adorable, bed was comfortable and storage in the wardrobe was great. Ample coffee and tea in the room w/ accompaniments and there is a small, quite useful fridge. I loved the chaise at the foot of the bed and the additional drawers that allowed a place to put and open my suitcase on top. Full, lengthy tub and great water pressure! Quiet and peaceful, with spacious outdoor seating. The lobby is adjacent to the bar, and the location is in very close proximity to the promenade and the water. My only two, minor gripes were not having the ability to control the room temp, and the partial shower door. The window only opens an inch or two at the top and the room was stiflingly warm, especially after a shower. The partial shower door let water spray and run all over the floor now matter how I tried to avoid it, and by the time I got out, the bathmat was soaked. I rang it out and used it again along with my towel to soak up the remaining water. A curtain or longer door would make a world of difference. They were mostly minor, and combined were the reason for one star deduction. I would stay again without concern, especially since there is a small lift available, which you will not find in most hotels here. That made getting my bags up multiple sets of stairs so much easier. There is a restaurant with a bar on site and they serve breakfast, but I didn't have anything so I can't comment on the food."
