"Loved the old charm but some things seemed run down like stains on the carpets everywhere. The location however was great! Downtown Monterey has lots of restaurants and breweries to walk to and very close proximity to the wharf, walking/bike trail on the water. We chose to walk the 1.5 miles to the Monterey Bay Aquarium on a beautiful sunny day with lots of wildlife to see along the way."

"The property is very pretty and clean. The bed wasn't as comfortable as we are used to but was ok. We didn't like being between a gas station and a strip mall and having our room door on the outside for anyone to walk up to. They have a lock on the door with a door stop but I didn't feel completely safe. There is an opening from the front part of inn to the back and that seemed unsafe. We used our sound machine to block any noise. We ordered breakfast from their onsite restaurant and it was...

"We love this Hotel. The renovation was excellent. I would have given 5 stars except that our room was directly under the lounge area and the movement of chairs above us was very loud. We were woken up early in the morning by chairs/tables scraping along the floor upstairs. Maybe simple pads under the chair and table legs would be a simple solution.The staff took note of this problem. The staff was friendly and professional. We loved the fire pits and choices of seating areas along the walkway....

"Cute place. Nice artificial fire pits, hot tub, and pool. Rooms get humid quickly and window unit A/C tries hard but only goes to 65. Windows open, which is nice, but no screens. Major street outside windows is very loud. I don't blame the hotel for fire engines at 4am, but the fact is they were there each night and woke up all four of us. Staff was nice. Housekeeping is on a (4 years later) covid schedule aka request only. Good value for the location, especially compared to neighboring options....
