"Easy access to the train station across the plaza.
Room was very nice clean and quiet. Ours had stone walls on at least 2 sides which helped mute any noises.
Nice roof top bar but food and service were more like what you would expect from a US hotel - overpriced and so so.
The gym is a treadmill, stationary bike and one or two other machines in an open room - which was to have but if you’re wanting a more complete gym this is not one."
"The property is in a good location, but the ac in our room was not working. The gym takes a different key and we were only allowed 1 key for our room."
"The location of the Excelsior is superb, overlooking the Bay of Naples. If you have the port side rooms you wake up to Vesuvius across the Bay and can watch its many moods throughout the day. On the roof top terrace you can watch the lights turn on in the city and see Vesuvius become a presence that is hard to ignore. The bed was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, and we needed it after 12 days of negotiating the cobblestone streets of the Amalfi Coast, averaging 6 miles a day, and...
"If you're looking for one of the best views in Capri, this hotel is an excellent choice.
Unfortunately, the service did not match the beautiful location. The cups in the minibar were not clean and the toilet paper wasn't replaced until we specifically asked for it, which is a basic standard I would expect from a hotel of this level.
The biggest disappointment was the welcome I received. While chatting with the receptionist, I casually mentioned that I hadn't been able to find an available room...
"Great location and very quiet. Rooms clean and spacious. The only thing lacking was a coffee maker. Had to wait for the restaruant to open, and then were charged for taking coffee back to the room. Not what I would expect for the price I paid."
"Not sure if “Smart Hotel” refers having colourful LED lights in the room but the Wi-Fi is anything but smart! Even with a different password provided by the staff the weak signal made working, streaming, or using the smart TV impossible. There’s also a list of rules, including no food or drinks in rooms. On the plus side, quiet rooms and comfortable beds."
"A beautiful boutique style hotel with great attention to detail. The superior room was very spacious and elegant with a lovely balcony looking out on the view of the sea. Bathroom clean and modern. Staff seemed very anxious to help. Meal and service at Don Geppi was incredible-well worth the extra cost to fine at a Michelin Star restaurant. The pool is beautiful but there was no hot tub as promised. The garden is inviting and a pleasant place to relax. Really our only downside was parking on...
"The hotel is pretty and the staff is really kind, but it could use a good renovation. Beautiful views and a really huge pool and pool area. It's pretty high up in Positano, be sure to understand you need to climb many stairs from the beach area."
"Wow!! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this hotel. The staff, the restaurant, the food, and the views!! So very spectacular!! They upgraded our room to #70. I’ve never been in a more amazing room with breathtaking views!! I did not feel well for a couple of days and the staff checked on me and brought me snacks and drinks to help we feel better. They were very caring a compassionate. Over all friendly and helpful. Spectacular in every way!"
