"Nice hotel with good facilities. Excellent spa and gym. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was buffet with some options to order from the kitchen. Everything was freshly cooked and warm with plenty of staff to attend tables. We used as a base to travel into Durham. Used park and ride which is only 5 mins on the bus and costs £2.20 return - much easier than the hassle of driving into a city centre at the weekend and trying to find a car park. I would definitely use the hotel again."

"We stayed one night to see Bruce Springsteen in Sunderland. Didn’t get time to use the hotel facilities as we were running late but what we did see and experience was very good, clean and tidy. Friendly staff, great location, fantastic breakfast. Would definitely stay again and make use of all the facilities they have to offer."

"A good hotel with excellent staff and clean rooms. Only let down by breakfast as every item on the buffet was at best lukewarm. I was on a tight time schedule so couldn’t complain and get fresh food. However, surely staff should be checking this, using temperature probes etc? "

"Highly recommended. Staff are fantastic, all meals excellent, the lounge and bar areas are really nice. Couple of minor things easily remedied, window plunder in the room was damaged & ash window would not stay open. The shower head badly leaked and just needs a new seal. We went on Motorbikes and parking was easy and secure with fantastic trips out from the hotel. "

Lovely welcome and check-in spoiled by an older lady I believe called Nicola (that’s what came up on the digital till when I purchased a drink later in the evening) who involved herself unnecessarily in the check-in process. "Good value for money. I think the hotel itself would admit that it isn't a luxury venue but for £55 for the room it was clean and comfortable and I slept well. The decor needs updating. Staff were great and very friendly. Food was excellent. I highly recommend the restaurant. I would stay again."
