"Resort was great really enjoyed it and staff very helpful. Only thing is be prepared for so many flies and at check in i was told my room was ready for me, but for me to get it at that time i would have to pay additional charge. We did get to hotel early but if the room is ready and no extra staff nor work was needed to get room ready why pay extra. So in other words the room would sit there empty until it was 3pm and then i can access it. I would understand if a rush clean up or extra staff needed to get it ready but it was ready, so ofcourse i paid but feel it was not called for since it was ready and waiting for me. Other than that was great"

"Have stayed at the Grand Mercure the last 6 times . I love the location, the resort style pool and bar and restaurants. Ghe staff are all great and speak good English. Will be back next year. "

"The property is right on the beach with two pools and a lot of walkable areas. There is about a 15 minute walk all the way to the jetty with a bar. The whole area is beautiful and quiet. It is about a 20 minute walk to the busy Patong Beach Bangla walking street or about $12.00 Grab ride if you don't want to walk. There is an Italian restaurant and a Thai/India restaurant in the hotel, both are excellent restaurants with reasonable price. The hotel price includes the excellent breakfast buffet. I highly recommend this hotel. An additional piece of advice, download the Grab app on your phone before going, Grab is the equivalent of Uber in Thailand and Singapore. Grab is very convenient to order rides in Thailand. Airport to the Amari Hotel is about $32. "
