"We have stayed here before and knew it was clean, close to the ocean and had everything we needed. The host, Andy, is so friendly. He would help in any way possible. We could hear the ocean waves crashing into the cliffs. I fantastic time and wonderful place to stay."

"Clean, functional place, peekaboo ocean view from the top porch, very friendly, non-intrusive landlord. His suggestions to visit the nearby coast were the best. The location is somewhat secluded and the waves and nearby tropical forests were stunning. Whales, turtles, tidal pools, all within minutes. People are very friendly in the area. Recommended!"

"Great location close to Volcano park. Musty smelling room – very damp environment. It was a bit cool and the small heater didn’t really work. There is a dirt driveway and parking area. Enjoyed the delicious muffins and papaya which were provided."

"Perfect location, can walk just a short walk to the ocean cliffs and sit and watch the ocean. You can even hear the waves at night from my room. Just a room with bed, microwave, fridge, and bathroom. Nice outdoor table area that is covered so you can eat outside. Highly recommend."

"Very poor - while John is in Thailand. Arrived 7PM. Another party was occupying my room. The other party couldn't gain access to THEIR room, so they took MINE. No-one was around. They called the phone number many times and left messages. The room they took was completely unacceptable. The 'wall of mold spores' hit me in the face as soon as I entered. "Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). "This was the perfect house for us. We especially loved the separate bedroom for our son to stay in. It was a fully stocked kitchen and a nice grill so we cooked in every night. The hot tub was great too! Mindi and John are wonderful hosts with top notch communication. The location was perfect for exploring the National Park and surrounding areas. The pictures just don't do this place justice, it's way cooler!"
