"We enjoyed and appreciated the really fine renovation of this handsome 19th century hotel. The historic elements were maintained while modern comfort was provided. Our room was more than spacious and the bed very comfortable."

"This place is well maintained, clean, well equipped and comfortable. Quiet spot for us to relax for a short while after a long working summer.I had a few small nitpicks with some of the things that we noticed, but should not be major detractors for anyone:- There is a single Ring camera on the garage building pointed at the front door of the house. That’s all well and good but it also overlooks the pool.- Some of the blinds in the common areas are missing sections."

"All the cabins on the property appear be getting exterior renovations. Cabin #4 looked like it had recieved minor exterior repair with other places needing minor attention. Overall the cabins look solid and sturdy with great integrity. Very accommodating amenities to comfortably sleep and house the 4 of us plus our pup.The cabin essentials were in good operating condition with a back-up window AC that did a wonderful job keeping the unit cool and comfortable. The coffee pot needed a deeper clean before we used it and under the couch could use a clean sweep.Overall our stay was very enjoyable and we loved the property layout and cabin setting. We used the fire pit and solid charcoal grill both nights.Thank you so much for letting us stay and enjoy this scenic and serene, gravel get-away in Southern Iowa!"

"Nice & roomy. Kitchen stocked with a few extra condiments & cooking supplies really helped. Walk to the beach area was reasonable. Maybe 1/4 mile. & reference book on the house rules, listing of what was close & information on surrounding area very helpful."
