Our room was comfortable and the owner and employeesâ attention to details made it special, like a terrarium in the bathroom, good breakfast included, limited parking in their lot, and a large selection of tv channels. The hotel is right on the doorstep of the Abbey District and other attractions are a short walk away. There is also good public transport connections nearby if you're looking to travel out further. The train station is a 10 minute walk from the hotel."

"The house is very nice, with everything as advertised. There is plenty of space, and the beds and furniture are comfortable. In the basement are a washer, dryer, and drying racks.The location is great, on a quiet street just a couple blocks from the center of the town of Appenzell. It's also very close to the train station - there are some sidewalks that go in between houses that make it a very direct walk, without having to follow the main roads.One caveat. The Appenzellers have a reputation for historically being on the short side, and the construction of this older house reflects that. If you have somebody who is 6' or taller, they might have challenges bumping their head. In particular, be careful with the basement - I am only 5' 9" but hit my head pretty hard coming up from the basement.The property manager communicates well, no issues.Overall, a great property, and we would definitely stay here again."
"The hotel was nice and the staff was very accommodating and friendly. There is no air-conditioning and the weather was hot, so the room was uncomfortable. The second day we asked forva fan, and they brought us a small one that was partially broken, butbit did help. The location was fine, on a main square, close to the restaurants, but a 8-10 minute walk to the teain station, our primary transportation. They had a wonderful breakfast available, and the restaurant was quite good for dinner as well."
"Excellent, very helpful staff. A super room (we were upgraded) with sinks in the large bedroom and the WC. Up-to-date, but with beautiful wood joinery. Fine breakfast, with a gluten-free option. Elevator and library and a good location a few hundred yards from the main square. No restaurant, but there are many others nearby, including at their partner Hotel Romantic Santis on the main square. Has a same-day laundry service. Only drawback is lack of parking, but you can stop in front to load and unload, then park in the public parking."

"Had everything we needed to enjoy our stay in Appenzell. Close to the historic town as well as grocery stores. A little difficulty finding the parking entrance, but the property manager was very helpful. We'd definitely recommend this comfortable home away from home."
