"We’ve been to the Burstin many times over the years, we particularly like staying in the balcony rooms. It does urk me though that you seem to be unable to request a balcony room when booking. They are always lumped in with the other Sea view rooms and it’s getting to be more frequent that we are unsuccessful in being allocated one. "

"We had a lovely stay at Hythe Imperial. Our experience largely positive. Staff very friendly. Our room however was like a sauna, with scalding hot radiators in June that you cannot turn down/off. Breakfast very basic and cold. Definitely not worth the extra £17 each. Take the 10 minute walk into town if you can. Food in the restaurant was nice but slightly overpriced. Will probably return but during winter when rates are a bit cheaper."

Only real criticism was that the bathroom windows would not close properly as they were clearly written and in need of repair. As regards Champneys, nice facility, however, clearly getting tired with plaster falling off adjacent to the sauna and the showers in need of an update.
