"Wonderfully helpful staff, well air-conditioned rooms, and the included breakfast has several options and is delicious! It is unfortunate that the neighboring business is quite loud at night, but given the relatively low cost for a location so close to central Tamarindo, it was worth the price. Take care not to keep food in the room though, with no fridge or storage areas the ants will find it VERY quickly."

"This is a great property and Juan, our host while on site, served us great breakfasts and was extremely polite and accommodating with any needs or desires. I love this property and will be staying there again and as often as possible. There is some construction on both sides of the hotel that might bother some, but it just wasn’t an issue for us. We were out exploring, beaching, and surfing during the day. Rooms, parking, and proximity to town were fantastic! "

"I stayed with two friends for a couple of nights here. We were provided an extra bed, so the three of us had a comfortable stay in the room. We all loved the pool and swam in it both nights. There are only 4 rooms, so we felt well taken care of. We'll definitely come back next time we're in Tamarindo."

"Casa Mapache is a lovely place managed by lovely people. The spacious, clean room had a king size bed and two twin beds, which was perfect for our family of four with two "tween" boys who don't want to share a bed if they don't have to! The A/C and ceiling fan kept us plenty cool. The bathroom was huge, with two showers! -- what a nice feature. There was plenty of hot water and good water pressure Our favorite part was the pool! "there is only 2 draw backs about this accomodation. 1) the noise that permeates the walls and roof. The noise in the room nearest the busy street is pretty bad. 2) the breakfast. Other than that the room is spacious if not a little weird with the toilet not being vented but open to the room. the bed was comfortable and the receptionist was helpful."

"The resort is gorgeous. The rooms are clean , beds are very comfortable. Definitely Great to have the pool right outside the door. Odd set up for the 2 bdr villas.. when you enter through the gate you have a common outside small table and 4 chairs and on each side of that is a sliding door..to the right ...a kitchen with 2 single beds and TV, no bathroom. So whoever is in that room has to come through the queen bedroom with people sleeping to use bathroom . On the left queen bedroom and bathroom, no tv. So when those people go to bed no tv to watch. Also, the shower is outside which was cool, but the door to the bathroom is locked and if you wanted to leave it open ..there was just enough gap for lizards and bugs to come in . And no hooks to hang your towel and clothes. The units definitely need more hooks to hang towels up or a retractable clothes line. We had all our stuff drapped all over the chairs in the common outdoor space. Which was hard to sit at as they were all covered in wet stuff. Also needs more hanging hooks for clothes in other room with the kitchen ....and more cutlery options like a good cutting knife , bottle opener, wine opener ..etc. Basic utensils only, no dish soap to wash dishes"
