"The location is ideal for seeing Edinburgh city centre. If you don't want the nightlife noise then stay somewhere else. The view of Edinburgh Castle from our room was perfect though they could have covered the small expanse of roofing to make it more visually appealing. And the windows don't open so ask them to clean them if you want nice photos. The bed is comfortable the room well equipped. It was nice to have a small fridge, kettle etc. more than two coffee cups would be more useful. The breakfast was excellent and staffing at the restaurant in the morning very pleasant and helpful, and attentive. We had dinner one night at the restaurant. My bowl was chipped,the meal was not the standard I expected for the price so it was the only one we had there. Received our meal with no utensils, we had ordered soup and a main. Front staff representatives friendly and approachable. Since there are many uneven stairs I was surprised to see them watch other older patrons struggle to bring luggage up and down them and not offer to assist they watch a group of 12 do just that and the last one was the only one they moved to assist and she was already half way down. Not very amusing while I held the door."

"What can I say ? I don’t think I could have chosen a better hotel it is central to just about everything including the train station and airline buses. Starting with the staff who were so helpful and just lovely. The hotel is stylish, clean and modern. We had a cozy room which was very spacious, they think of everything to GHD hair dryer and straighteners, gorgeous smelling shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser etc. Complementary bar and snacks in the room including a pint of milk for tea and coffee making which consisted of a kettle as well as a coffee pod machine. I cannot praise this hotel enough and will definitely stay here again as I’ve fallen in love with Edinburgh. "

"We were in the attic room on the 9th floor. The room was massive and the big bed comfortable. We had 3 windows each with upholstered double bench seats in front of them. The bathroom was big also but a little dark. The AC worked as it should and warmed or cooled the room very quickly. Breakfast was really good with plenty of choice and cooked to orders, with a continental side. Mac at breakfast was really helpful and extremely polite. We asked for our half board evening meal to be sent to our room. They did this without quibble and didn’t charge anything extra. Because we decided not to have our room made up (2 nights) were given 2 vouchers for drinks up to £7.50 each. We were also given a voucher for 2 free glasses of Prosecco during our stay. The hotel is very well located with plenty of bars and restaurants close by. It is also a 5 minute walk from the St James’s shopping centre. The Tram station is across the square which is a direct link to the airport. We booked just the night before so it was a little expensive, but won’t be, I’d imagine, for any advance booking."
