We stayed at The Cavendish Hotel on the Chatsworth Estate last October and loved the area and Chatsworth itself. The Devonshire Arms in Pilsey is also lovely, but more casual. We had a room in the farmhouse with a four poster bed and it was very comfortable. Note it sems every village in Derbyshire has a pub/inn called the Devonshire Arms so you DO need to specify Pilsey to get the correct one. Even more confusing there is another Devonshire Arms on the Chatsworth Estate at Beely which is...

Absolutely beautiful and quaint, similar to what you see in period movies and tv shows. We would definitely stay here again. We recommend suite 1. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Room and en-suite were remodeled recently, keeping the old world charm with updated amenities.

I saved up for this trip for years, so decided I would splurge a few times on hotels and the Cavendish was one of them. I was not disappointed! The room was huge, beautiful, comfortable, with all amenities, clean and did I mention gorgeous?
I had a lovely view, the light was excellent, the bed was heaven. Both restaurants in the hotel served excellent fare with outstanding customer service. The formal dining room was one of the prettiest rooms I have seen, although the chairs were created...

The Moon has great character, a fascinating history (I'm distantly related to many of the past owners from the 1800s), excellent amenities, and excellent breakfasts. I enjoyed my dinners there, too. Josh and Emma from the staff were both very friendly and helpful to me. The parking is easy, the inn centrally located in the heart of the village, and lots of local characters stop by for a pint and folks from further afield for a meal. A quintessential Derbyshire experience. Not my first time...

If you're seeking the quintessetial English county location, this is it. The scenery is beautiful. There is a wonderful pub and restaurant, where the food is actually exceptional. Our room was fantastic, clean and authentically English. Well-appointed with a comfortable 4-poster bed. The Bull Head Inn seems like a bit of a fairy tale, but is not at all contrived. Truly authentic English charm.

It was a lovely place to stay. We were travelers for the Chatsworth House and stayed here 1 night. Our room was excellent, and the food - for dinner and breakfast (both continental and english) was fantastic!

We had a fantastic stay at The Family Tree. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was lovely, clean and quiet. And the breakfast was amazing! Just a few minutes’ drive from the Tramway Museum, or a lovely 40-minute walk along the canal to the Hurt Arms in Ambergate.
In the end, we were sorry that we were only staying the one night; wish we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again the next time we’re in Derbyshire!
