"Very clean and smart room. Public areas are all very well kept and very nicely decorated with plenty of character. There is a very smart homely atmosphere. All the staff have been very friendly and professional. There was a maintenance problem, which couldn’t be resolved, but a suitable option was offered immediately - which we were happy with. Evening meal was very nice - a little pricey, but to be expected at a hotel in the Lake District. The gentleman running the bar (from Glasgow) was particularly chatty and attentive. Reception staff were lovely and the young lady who served us in the restaurant was very polite and professional (young lady with strawberry blonde hair tied back). "we had a wonderful stay with our grandchildren in December, the hotel was beautiful and the seasonal decorations where truly spectacular. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our room was fabulous with a queen size bed as well as bunk beds for the children. The dining room was beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean with wonderful views of the lake. Would 100% stay here again. "

The location was excellent for Bowness shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, plus Lake Windermere too, with a 10-minute walk. We would definitely stay here again."

"Great stay overall! The room was spacious and the amenities were very good. The only downside was the poor ventilation in the bathroom, which caused an unpleasant smell. Other than that, everything was excellent."
