We had to switch rooms because of air conditioning and shower problems, then to only have similar problems in 2nd room. Both rooms air filters had to be changed and when they took them out there was so much dust it floated. So gross that the air conditioning unit could not work. Our final room was cleaner the the first it was just a huge inconvenience changing rooms when you are only there 2 nights. I had stayed at Empire 2 years ago and was happy to go back, but that r we I’ll not ever happen again. They need to completely clean every air conditioning unit and fix showers in all rooms. "

"My room was clean, fresh, and in relatively good condition. The attached restaurant and bar were surprisingly good for a "hotel" restaurant: good food, nice staff, and fair (NY) prices. Plus, you can get a 15% discount coupon from the desk."

"This hotel is listed as Times Square. It is actually located in Hell's Kitchen, closest to 11th Ave. There are no security features in this hotel besides a single desk worker. Room keys are not needed to enter the elevator. My room was in severe disrepair. AC unit was duct taped to the wall, and ser at 51 degrees by staff. It ran once overnight. The single lampshade was ripped in several places. All of the picture frames in my room and bathroom were broken. The shower had cracked, black grout. I was provided with 2 hand towels and a bathmat; not a single body towel or washcloth. Bottom line, I did not feel safe or clean in this space. I will not stay here again. "
