"The Rose and Crown was an absolute delight.
The property was so sweet, the room clean, cute and comfortable. The location excellent, close to Bath but a quiet oasis out of the hustle and bustle.
The food at the pub was delicious and well valued.
Would highly recommend."

"An amazing building. Parking off street and easy to access. Room very hot and stuffy, kettle was unusable due to mould in it and bathroom not the cleanest plus room very dust. In a good location bus stop just close by"

"Lovely looking building and good parking outside. The owner was really friendly and helpful and made sure I had everything needed for my stay, even walking me around the building so I knew where everything was. Breakfast was a nice spread and fresh which was good. My stay was only 1 night but would return again."

"Wonderful host, was very friendly and offered suggestions on things to do and places to eat. It was lovely to have a separate guest sitting room to relax in outside of the bedroom as well as connect with other guests. Short walk into the busy cultural areas and shopping but easy to bus or uber around. Quiet area at night and very safe."

"The hotel is beautiful, lovely places to have drinks and eat, the garden were beautiful in the morning and it was pleasant to sit outside on an autumn morning... most staff very helpful and willing.
Areas requiring improvement: it was a busy evening and the main restaurant was booked out, then again at breakfast it was full, we got informed we could sit in the connecting library (which didn't have proper tables for eating) or the atrium so twice on our stay we didn't get to eat in the main restaurant. We paid for a suite and it didn't have water in the rooms, on asking I got told about water filters on each floor which is great environmentally but actually having had no bottles provided in the room for obtaining water just made the concept a bit useless!
Also on asking for potentially an extra half hour in the morning I got told I could if I paid more money yet I had purchased a suite and actually this should be a perk occasionally especially if you have young children. A few niggles that take away from what could be a great hotel get away."
"We love the Gainsborough Hotel and it's somewhere we've visited on more than one occasion, due to the mineral pools that are part of the hotel's amenities. However, for the first time in our many visits, we were asked to pay an extra amount (£70 per person for 2 hours) to use the pools outside the guests' complimentary hours of 8-10am and 7-9pm. For four people, this would have added an extra £280 to our bill - rather a lot when the hotel rooms are already fairly expensive. This relatively new policy did take the shine off visiting the hotel, particularly as the pools were really busy in the complimentary evening slot. It's a shame that the hotel have decided to try and make more money out of guests in this way and would make us think twice about booking the hotel again."
"We found the interior design to be inventive and beautiful. The hotel is a joining of 12 (?) different houses and getting around can feel like one is in a maze. As an older couple, they gave us a room we could get to, avoiding stairs and gave us a great view. The modern bathroom had to be a bit cramped to accommodate the many mergings of houses. We would have liked to have had tissues and more hanging space in the room. The bed was way too hard for one of us. They brought up a duvet to top the sheets, which helped. The breakfast was fabulous. The Beau restaurant served good food with accommodations for a wide variety of dietary needs. The staff (all of them) went above and beyond to serve us with cheery attitudes. The hotel is well located. We highly recommend the hotel if a 4 star is a good option for you."
