"Excellent location with abundance of recreational options! Very good job of renovating an older facility. Would check about vacuuming behind furniture. Had to plug something in behind chair and it was a bit gross. The shuttle bus driver was awesome in introducing us to the area and flat top mtn. Reception personnel not exactly accommodating. Felt like the reception desk did not want to work there. I expected they would take the initiative of suggesting trips, hikes, etc. All in all we had a great stay and found things on our own!! Would return."

"We stayed here for 3 days to attend a family reunion in Buchanan, VA. The hotel has so much history and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. We had a wonderful breakfast in the dining room one morning. The hotel is old but everything is in good working order. The only reason I gave a cleanliness score of 4 is I feel the elevator could use a good cleaning and spruce up. We enjoyed Natural Bridge State Park that is just across the street while we were there, also. I highly recommend a stay here."
