"Clean rooms, nice sized rooms, friendly staff but mattress were too soft. The coffee in the urn in the lobby was very old, had a funny smell."

"My main issue was a new $5 surcharge for parking in what is a motel. If the hotel needs to pay more for security or cleaning snow those costs of business should be included in the nightly cost. Also I found it odd that they had potatoes and several kinds of meats for breakfast but no scrambled eggs"

"Another wonderful stay in Lexington while visiting my daughter at VMI. I love the location of the Gin though I will say this time I didn’t sleep very well due to hallway noise and overall room discomfort. AC worked well, but the room was just loud, awkward light coming in from outside and awkward outlet offerings in the room just made for a bit perfect trip as I have had in the past."

"Property was cleaned and well maintained, golf driving range was nice. There were no amenities available to book, the pool was over crowded and the entire tower was down to 1 elevator. Overall, a good experience but would suggest a non-holiday weekend to visit."

"It is a great hotel and the place is wonderful to visit. But it still has not recovered fully from the COVID era. One thing I really disliked was that the bath towels were small, very worn and hard like a sandpaper. Likely they never used a softener in washing them. I'd recommend bring your own towels and bath amenities if you are not baggage limited."

"Breakfast was great. The room was nice and bright. Hot water and all. Check-in and check-out was seamless. Couldn’t have been better. I wish I had time to check out the pool. It looked super clean and kids were in it."

"We loved the Staff and the hotel overall-- very helpful for any extras ( needed a few more bath towels for our extra long weekend stay). The breakfast was excellent ( delish and abundant choices) and the beverages were available day and night. Loved the tile floors in the rooms, the carpeted hallways kept the other areas quiet. Fast elevators. It is a pet friendly hotel and was kept very clean outside too, with complimentary dog treats at the front desk area. Pool was a good temperature, just no lounge chairs in there. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this hotel again. Other mentions-- the restaurant just down the hill ( we walked there) was great too! Very friendly and good food at very reasonable prices. A Cracker Barrel was across the roadway and a hill and they were good too. We did have trouble with Uber and Lyft drivers --they are not very available or reliable in the Staunton area. We did eventually find one driver who we used for a few rides ( without the app) who was very reliable and at a reasonable cost. We did not have a vehicle (came in by train to the valley)."
