I travel often in Germany for my research, and have stayed in every type of lodging from small bed and breakfasts to huge corporate chains. Apartment Kaiser Karl in Bonn is hands-down the nicest experience I have ever had in more than a decade of frequent business travel to Germany. Everything that was needed was on hand or close by, and nothing extraneous. Clean, quiet, comfortable rooms that worked wonderfully with the existing architecture and character of this historic part of the city....

I attend the UN Climate meetings in Bonn each year, and have stayed in Bonn and in small towns on both sides of the Rhein, to the south of the city. All places except one have been satisfactory, but this one stands out as special. The aesthetics are simple but pleasing. My room was spacious, especially the bathroom, though this is a renovation project and all rooms may not all be cut to the same size and shape. Everything worked. This was our first time at Hotel Aigner and we will definitely come back. The hotel is very well located - about 5 minutes from the main "downtown" area of Bonn with many shops and restaurants, yet in a quiet street. The breakfast buffet was excellent with many delicious choices and very friendly service. There are several "Kneipen" (bars) and restaurants as well as small shops (book stores, antiques, clothing boutiques) in the immediate neighborhood and the bigger department stores and shopping...

The room hasn’t been renovated yet and unfortunately was lacking amenities (no phone, small TV, dusty), however, the hotel is a little gem and the Breakfast was too die for, super delicious we’ve spent hours every morning lol. They worked with us changing departure date. Cute ambiance!
