"Where do i begin? The moment i came in, i was met with a gracious host behind the desk, who ensured that my room was accessible via elevator since i had 2 large luggage pieces. The next day, the other attendant was full of advice on where to go and how to get there..she even gave me free dutch chocolate! My last two days, i had breakfast in the hotel and boy was I pleasantly surprised! Freshly made scrambled eggs, delicious fruit, warm breads and great coffee! The room that i got was on the small side because i was a solo traveller, but i really enjoyed the fact that there was a balcony. Overall, I was truly satisfied!"

"We had another wonderful stay at the De L'Europe. The property is beautiful and even better as they prepare it for the holidays. They kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony, which was fantastic! It was so lovely and luxurious and really made the stay perfect. Breakfast in Marie Brasserie was the highlight of my day - wonderful service overlooking the canal and an exceptional array of foods available at the buffet or for order. The hotel is small enough that the staff recognizes you and it really feels like a home away from home. Wonderful!! "

The room itself was simple, clean, and cozy, but definitely on the smaller side (typical for Amsterdam). If you’re looking for luxury, this isn’t it — but if you want somewhere safe, central, and convenient, it gets the job done. The staff was friendly and check-in was fast. A few things to know: the walls are a bit thin, so you may hear hallway noise. Also, the building is older, so expect Amsterdam charm, not modern upgrades. Overall, a solid budget-friendly stay in an excellent neighborhood. I’d stay again for the location alone. Great for solo travelers who want comfort, walkability, and a cozy home base between exploring. "
