"Disappointment was an understatement. Besides the fact that the hotel manager had some racist undertones in his talk, the staff was uncomfortably odd. Their mission is to be eco-friendly, which is great, but their mission of living in a commune & not liking tourists makes it worrisome. No TV is allowed. Men are asked to sit to pee. Music is discouraged. Going into town is frowned upon. BEWARE OF EXTRA CHARGES! The hotel insists that you eat meals with them. It is cheaper to eat meals...

The hotel is beautiful, but what really made it special was the incredible view from our room overlooking the Jungfrau—waking up to that scenery every morning was unforgettable. The breakfast was one of the best we’ve had, with an excellent selection of fresh, high-quality food. We also loved the restaurant, where every meal was delicious and the service was warm and attentive. If you’re looking for a luxurious stay in Grindelwald with spectacular mountain views, exceptional dining, and a fantastic breakfast, Bergwelt Grindelwald is an easy five-star recommendation."

"Nice modern hotel in a good location next to the Rosengarten. Great view from the rooftop bar over the old town and to the mountains. Friendly helpful staff. Car parking below. Nice size room with good bathroom. The bed was a little too hard for us but otherwise no complaints. Would definitely recommend."
