"What i like about the place is the cleanliness of the place , the beach staff & the hotel staff were accommodating. What i didn’t like was we were near the bar and we can’t stay at the veranda to sit down and enjoy the beach view. We can’t open the curtain because we need privacy."

"The Victorian setting takes you back in time so that you can almost feel the people from 1850 walking the halls. The staff was about as courteous and friendly as any staff coulkd be. Always smiling and cheerfull. The accomodations were very clean, the bed comfortable and the breakfasts out of this world great. Thanks for a very enjoyable weekend for my wife and I."

"I would definitely go back. I liked the upscale look & feel of the rooms & property. Food for thought: They could manage the fitness room a little better, machines need some tuning up & supply necessities like disinfectant wipes, water cooler, etc. Pool towels are a bit small-2 per person would be more accommodating or invest in larger towels. A bit deceiving that the private cabana on the beach is included….it is not & is an extra hourly fee. What is included is an umbrella with 2 lounge chairs. Hope this helps ;)"

"The food and service at the Barefoot lounge was excellent. Th epool was very good and convenient being next to the lounge. Parking at times was a little difficult as spaces filled up quickly. All-in-all avery nice place, this is our second year at this time of year."

"The property is clean & the staff is friendly. Every employee greeted us whenever we encountered them throughout the property. The beach & pool are nice, but there aren’t many other amenities. I would have appreciated an adults-only pool, as there were a lot of children & it was difficult to really relax by the pool. Our room was clean, but the bed was not comfortable. We also had several maintenance issues during our stay. On day one, our door would not stay locked; on day two, the toilet wouldn’t flush. On day three, the A/C stopped working & we had to sleep in the room next door until it could be repaired the next morning. I did appreciate how quickly the staff addressed the issues. The hotel is at the quieter end of the beachfront, which was a positive for us. It’s roughly a 20–30 minute walk to many of the restaurants & shops in town. I would have liked 24-hour coffee & tea service in the lobby. There is a Keurig-type coffee maker in the room, but nothing for making tea and only tap water available. My biggest issue was on day three, when the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning. I called the front desk to ask where guests should go for safe shelter. I was transferred around, & the last person I spoke with responded, “It’s not even raining!”Regardless of the weather outside at that moment, hotel staff should know the emergency procedures. Overall, we had a nice trip & Cape May itself was enjoyable to experience but for us it was a one and done destination."

"Coastal Estate deserves more than 5 stars! Less than 10 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Washington Mall, the center of the town of Cape May, it is the perfect place for a getaway! Suitable for families or couples! Beautiful pool with waterfall and cabanas too!! Truly, a hidden treasure!!"

Avondale by the Sea Motel

"I was traveling as a mom with her 13 year old son and we got a third floor two queen beds room. All of the rooms face the ocean but the third floor is the best. The rooms are large and very clean and comfortable and my son and I enjoyed playing uno on our porch watching the sunset opposite the ocean. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We really had such a wonderful stay, walking to arcades and restaurants and ben and jerry's. We had beach passes provided by the hotel and could walk on the beach whenever we wanted. We will definitely be coming back next year and will probably be bringing more family with us. Thank you so much for this amazing vacation."

"I liked the history, idea of it. Didn’t feel like they offered enough for what was paid. Son’s room decorated much cuter, could feel the era more. Our room, not too much effort put forth, plus a door under one of the beds. Like, who cares. A lamp on floor to keep curtain drawn for ac."
