"We stayed here for a weekend trip to Alton Towers after travelling up from the south of England. We paid £36 per room for three rooms, and for that price we were happy with what we got.
We were given rooms in the courtyard, which was really convenient as we could park directly outside our doors. The beds were clean and comfortable, which is the most important thing for us.
That said, the rooms are looking quite tired. The walls could do with a fresh coat of paint, all of the baths were heavily marked, and overall the rooms would really benefit from a refurbishment. At £36 a room, we accepted that you get what you pay for.
We recently looked at booking again for a couple of weeks’ time and were surprised to see the price has almost doubled. Unfortunately, at the new price, we just don’t feel the rooms offer good value for money in their current condition. It’s a shame, as we would have happily returned if the pricing had remained more in line with what the accommodation offers."
